Same, it's much easier to just say that pretty much all of their songs are great. But Cirice, Ritual and Absolution are probably at the top for me. But their guitar tone is amazing, I've been trying to get that for quite some time now. I don't own a modeler, so it's been difficult to achieve it with gear that isn't what they've used. But the Orange Micro Dark clean with a Rat distortion boosted with a Tube Screamer going in to it gets in that ballpark

I use a Mooer Ge200 practice and live. I found a capture of the pre amps for a Rev amp, it came from a Ge300 and I have no idea where I found it now. But it dramatically changed the tone on that thing. It sounded so good when paired with a proper power amp. I get compliments on my tone all the time.
@SuperBriandamage4 жыл бұрын
One application that would be key is comparing both through a clean channel or effects return of an amplifier with the cab models off to see if there are differences there. I do that alot live.
@bikersoncall3 жыл бұрын
For me, that cab feature on a lot of processors is something I wind up using often, not for the authenticity of the cab particularly , just because 'it' often radically changes whatever sound you have going on, changes that sound for better and worse , depending on which cab you hit, a Marshall 412, may not sound anything like a Marshal 412, but is sure will change the sound compared with some of the other cabinet 'names' . lol ./

5:35 I agree, but I'm not saying that the 200 is not close, I think in this demo it sounded good, but on many of 'chord passes' by comparison with the the 250 , the 200 sounded like it had a sheet over the 'cabinet' , mildly to moderately muffled. I felt more clarity coming from each note of the chords for the most part in the 250 sound bites. Both sound good here, I would go with the 250, considering this clip, tone capture*, and exp pedal, on off switch, xlr outs, and a couple other things he mentioned. I ordered the GE 250 yesterday, looking forward to trying it out, I'll probably try both Guitar amp and PA. *Tone Capture, this feature is 'scary' , I've read that it is close, not perfect, I will be very interested in seeing if 'close' is passable, if it is, then yeah, this is a very scary feature, not in a bad way for 'users' , but perhaps for pedal builders. :) shrugs....
@VESANG3 жыл бұрын
To me the ge200 has more clarity but IMHO the difference is the EQ . With EQ tweak you can make them sound identical. There is video here GE200 vs GE300 amp comparison... basically NO DIFFERENCE !

The 4cm was the reason I didn’t get the 200 and did get an hx stomp. I would have loved the footprint of the mooer and would have been fine with the sounds of the models but, I do use my hx with my amp most of time so it was must to have that feature. If it was today and I was deciding I would strongly lean to the 250 for the number of effects at once as well as the extra buttons and expression pedal built in. I do have the option of making a crazy pedal board with the stomp though and that will make it very adaptable for the future

There is a slight difference. 200 is a modeler, but 250 is a profiler, it can sample and replicate sound of the amp, due it’s “Tone Capture” function. So, if you want to own something like Kemper, but in the price level up to 500$, it’s first choice for you. Instead of this, 200 is still very good modeler, and with third party IRs it can produce really killer sounds.

The 200 had more fizz. Just a thought here....if you capture a tone with this pedal and then use the pedal direct to PA at a show, it wont sound nearly the same as the amp+cab in the room sound that you were trying to capture, correct? I.e, it would only be close to the same if you hooked up the 250 to an amp in 4CM....otherwise taking that captured tone and plugging it into a PA would color the tone drastically. Right?

I like the 200 better. It sounds like the treble is a bit high but the 250 just sounds too modern and held back. 200 has that classic 90s death growl of aggression and defiance.. Also this is just one setting. With these multi effect pedals there's bound to be some effects you'd like more than others side by side in a blind test. For me these pedals are just to bs around in and record demos until I can dial in a more precise sound on computer based software like Axe FX or Helix FX. For that I want a small unit, easy UI, and a low price point. So 200 wins!

I have the GE200 and since I put the 2.0.3 update the sound has improved a lot, before that update I was not convinced, the sound was like digital, but now it sounds really good. What I would like to know is if the GE250 has better effects than the GE200. Compressor, Chorus, Flanger, are not good. Great video Taylor, although I saw it a little late.

These full blown studio productions are good to sell stuff, but they just don't help us guitar players here. The sound is not what you get out of the box, even not with hours of tweaking. You're a faker, Taylor!
