Time travel in Quran Gog/Magog in Surah Kahf

This question always came to my mind whenever I read Sura Khaif that where on the earth is the place the people require protection from Sun does not make any sense. And also how a nation of Gog and Magog stuck behind the mountain and could not find a way to go around it. After listening to you its starts making sense. Also about portals which we have seen it in so many sci-fi movies. When Quran says in surah kaif that the fish disappears in a strange way I always thought how but now it starts to making sense. You are a genius!

I read about the Anunnaki and Sumerian Cuneiforms and I believe that a lot of what he says makes sense. However, one cannot simply put up a wall in a blackhole. Moreover, the Gog and Magog are from the sons of Adam (A.S). If you read Surah Kahf, you'll notice that Allah says that there were three people and one dog or four people and one dog. Allah also says that do not argue about their number because it is only Allah and the people He chose to posses that knowledge. The problem with Sahir's logic is exactly that. It takes away one's focus from the message of Allah to irrelevant details. Who honestly cares about spaceships and portals. We're all going to die without having ever to witness such a portal or a spaceship. In our grave, these insignificant and irrelevant details won't matter. The angels will not ask us if we believed in spaceships or portal. Thus, I think it is okay to listen and study these things for fun but take all of these meaningless discussions with a grain of salt.

Hi...i have listened Sahil's so many lectures over this Sura -e- Kahaf.....His point if view is that Zulqarnain actually travelled through the portals to somewhere else in this Universe or in the skies where he found a nation or people who were being teased or bothered by Yajooj Majooj and that nation requested to Zulqarnain to help and then he built a wall...... Now....my question is if you go through the translation of ayat number 94 Sura-e-Kahaf.....it says " In logo nay kisi tarhan kaha k ay Zulqarnain Yajooj O Majooj ZAMEEN main fasaad barpa kar rahay hain to kia yeh mumkin hai k hum aap k liay ikhrajaat faraham kar dain or aap HUMARAY or un k darmiyan aik rukawat qarar day dain"......if you read this tarjuma it clearly says that that particular nation was at ZAMEEN when they requested Zulqarnain for a help but not in the skies somewhere else..... therefore in my point of view the victimized nation was on earth at that time not on any other planet....

Such an interpretation of Gog and Magog comes from wrong methodology. If Dhulqarnain's journey was transcendental, there must have been something in the verse that should have indicated it. For example, the 4th verse of Surah al-Ma'aarij. The word ta'ruju already indicates that the journey is transcendental and secondly, the time difference between a day's journey in a certain dimension of space and time and its equivalent of 50,000 years in our dimension of space and time indicates that such a journey is transcendental. As for the verse of Surah al-Kahf, the word sababan does not indicate that the journey of Dhulqarnain is transcendental. The word simply indicates a purpose rather than "a way into the heavens and space." The word saddayn already indicates that they journey was one in the middle of a mountain pass. His communication with a qawm whose language he did not understand also indicates they are human beings who were visited by fasad from Gog and Magog. There is no indication in these verses that it was a journey beyond our dimension of space and time. The very beginning of the passage already indicates that his journeys were on earth: Innaa makkannaa lahu fil ardi wa aataynaahu min kulli shay-in sababan (We established him on Earth - not on the Earth and in the heavens and space - and We gave him all the means he was in need of, or provided every means for him to demonstrate his might and power). Fa atba'a sababan - and so did he pursue the means to establish his authority on Earth, obviously in submission to Allah's sovereignty. The word sababan is then used again for a couple of times. If the man's interpretation is correct, he is required to proof what makes the last usage of the word sababan different from the earlier usage of the same word in the whole passage. With language and context alone, we can quite easily understand that there is nothing transcendental about the journeys of Dhulqarnain. If we look at muhkamah and mutashabihah, though there is a reason to interpret dhulqarnain as dhulqawmain, there seems to me no need to interpret his journeys to the east, west and between a mountain pass.

Bro im also critic of his interpretation but one thing confusing me that is, why zulqarnain used planks of copper instead of some rocky material, although verses about zulqarnain are very ambiguous, i mean the place where sun sets and ain hamiya, do you hav any interpretation...coz im searching hard about this questionthat why he didnt use rocky or any other material to close their passage rathe he used copper, very strange..

There is difference between the word 'ardi' and 'dunia' .the word ardi in above mentioned ayat implies that his journeys were on all the 'ard' in universe not just this duniya's ard.. Maybe im wrong but thats what i conclude from his lectures and knowledge

@@gulrukh101 yes you are right i hav also com to the conclusion that his point of view is very close to the context of these verses, and being a professional engineer i know if alloys are made of such metals then it could increase the resistvity either in classical physics or in quantum physics,and that is expressed by nordheim rule and this cause the scattering of electrons through their pathways..thats why i ask the question why he built barriers of copper and iron alloy, if this would had happend on the earth then he would must had needed mountain of copper and iron, instead it wud had been better he wud built the barriers with rocky material, all his actions implies that this was unsual happening and the interpretation of these verses and other science related verses must be reviewed, we cant say interpretations of our classical scholars were wrong, infact they tried their best for that time of audience..
