I fell in love with this line of watches and decided that one of them will be my first watch, but to be perfectly honest - even though I'm not proud of this - I kept getting swayed away because of the general watch community's comments about the brand and the movements they use. I was so upset that I was giving into it but somehow I couldn't turn it off; I thought there must be some truth to what they are saying, and I don't want my hard-earned money to go to waste! However, watching you and remembering all your amazing interviews with Biver made me realise how silly I was being. This is a fantastic watch and I really appreciate you taking the time to show us just that.

I read about plastic bits in tag watches,why is this a issue? And do they make their own movement in the green Aquaracer? As you would hope so for the $$$ they charge.

The positives: Nice design overall, great clasp, great weight/ comfort on wrist . Negatives: Outdated Calibre 5 with only 38 hrs power reserve, basically an ETA 2824 a movement found in watches costing US$500. Massive depreciation on the secondary market at around 75% depending on who/where you sell it .Colour is not for everybody , I would have done this in blue since it’s called Aquaracer or “water racer”. Green , it’s ok but not for me . Some models use plastic part(s) and/or spacer I believe and at that price point it’s a big no no. Grade 2 titanium is softer and scratches more easily than a higher grade titanium , they used it probably because it’s cheaper and easier to mass produce , so more profit for them .Lastly the price is too high, for the savvy watch buyer this feels like a “ rip off” .

Calibre 5 is outdated , its basically an ETA 2824 a movement you can find in US$500 watches! Even Oris now has an in house movement on the Aquis 41.5 mm with 120 hrs power reserve

@@theoverlord1925 I'm very much aware of all this. I have such a movement in my Oris Divers 65, cost me only 1400 brand new when I bought it. Funny you mention this because I was thinking about the new Aquis' with 120 hours of power. Now, power reserve isn't everything. But, 38 is just too low. I need at least 48, come on.

Isn't grade 2 titanium more fragile and scratches easier than stainless steel? Should have been grade 5 titanium.

Yes correct but grade 2 cheaper so more profit for Tag Heuer. The biggest “ rip off” in my opinion is the outdated Calibre 5 which is basically an ETA 2824 with only 38 hrs power reserve and plastic part / spacer in the watch .At US$4650 in some parts of the world , you tell me if it’s a good deal ? Factor in a 75% depreciation in the secondary market and I say, nope.

The New Aquaracer looks great. The design is well executed and is becoming an iconic dive watch design for Tag. The entire watch seems well made, nice bracelet, clasp and case finishing. Nice colors on the dials. Only downside is the movement, but it's still good, just nothing fancy. Also the movement technical specs are lacking too... let's say compared to the new Oris Aquis or Tudor Black Bay. I own the Tudor Black Bay 41 Blue bezel, but I will admit this Tag is great alternative to the Black Bay if you like a more modern look. Tag did a great job!

fuck inhouse. It only makes the watch harder to service. ETA and ETA modded movements are high standard great movements that any watchmaker can service and get spare parts for.

In comparing the large variants, the Tag wears so much nicer on wrist. The Tudor 58 is probably nicer, but the 41mm Tudor diver is not good on wrist.

@@theoverlord1925 this price is for the titanium version i think.Here in europe the stainless stell is 2850€ .Yes resale value is really bad with tag heuer butt like with all used things you lose money with selling .Look at cars you buy a beamer 5 for 80k brand new and in 2 years only is worth 40k(nobody complaints ). P.s. i dont do safe buying if i can afforted i buy or i dont.The plastic is btw better shock ressistant then a metalic one thats why they use them.The sellita movement or some use also eta 2824 ok yes its a standard movement.For me 2850€ is not much for such a brand history(not only heuer butt also tag heuer!!!) If Rolex can charge the 3× of the msrp with basic watches for the watch snobs i think Tag can charge 3k or4,5k titan version.And dont compare please a Oris(great brand btw) with a Tag.Oris knows nobody butt a Tag knows somebody that is not even in the watch game.
