The song was released September 11, 1983. It was off of their third Album "In A Special Way". Hardly "way back" or "old school". Bunny co wrote the song and it was gospel inspired, for those of you who are wondering what the lyrics may mean. It is widely known the Debarge children have reported their father was abusive physically and sexually. If you really listen to the lyrics and the way the song was arranged, it stands to reason Bunny was writing from an inner faith based inspiration, which is not unrealistic considering she has done work in the genre of gospel in recent years.
