Synthwave (what this is), is inspired by 80s synth music - the “vintage” part. 80s synth music was inspired by the Sci-Fi genre - the “futuristic” part. However, I’m not too sure if I’m correct but I believe it is something along the lines of what I have just said.

I remember being a teen in the 80’s. Just remembering it hurts, the nostalgia hurts the most. I remember driving past the Kremlin and seeing the Soviet flag flying, I remember buying cigarettes out of vending machines and climbing buildings all over Moscow with my friends. In 1990 it all really ended for me, I got in car crash my girlfriend died in my arms a year later are nation was destroyed I had no place, no hope, love on hate.

Ironicly, we live in that future. My country is about to disintegrate, people here cannot afford living, everyone committing suicide because of economical problems and the whole society is depressed. I cling to such songs because this is all I have. Such a dystopia is already happening here, in Turkey. You just don't know about it and don't see it. You are on a lonely island, just by the edge of a small wood cabin facing the sea. You're with a gorgeous, kind and perfect woman, laying on your shoulder. You hear the calm sea rushing to the sand, and admire a mesmerizing sunset on the horizon. Everything seems like paradise, and you dont even question yourself how you got here, you're just enjoying a moment of pure joy. Then you begin to hear some strange loud noises, and rains against a roof, even if there isnt a single cloud outside. Suddenly, everything is collapsing: the sky is turning black, the shore is disappearing. In a moment of fear you grab the woman hand, and she starts looking at you, as everything around you is vanishing. She asks you, "are you okay ?" As her face fades away. "Where am I ? Who is this girl ? I cant remember her name... Do I really know her ?" But you already know you cant answer these questions, because you're slowly getting awake, woke up by the rain tapping the windows, alone in your dark bedroom, with a weird feeling of mixed love and regret, for a world existing only in a dream of yours..

This song takes me to a different world, distant, yet familiar, and it hits even harder when it's time to sleep, because it causes you to dream about something before you even close your eyes. This music is very beautiful, powerful even, and it just flows right through my mind like that of a river. Not much music of today does that.

1983, still remember it as the year I graduated high school. No cell phones, no CDs, had to listen to records & tapes. Phones were in homes & booths. Credit cards were difficult to get and weren’t accepted in a lot of places.
