Oh the water effect when you went underwater. Just brilliant. Never a dull moment in these videos. The third trophy was in an unreasonable place in my opinion as well. Also the "Throphy" typo. What a great puzzle ! Great concept and even prettier execution. Both skyboxes were incredibly well made and one of the best ones I've ever seen in Portal community maps. Finally, gotta agree with you on "Back to the Future" series lol
@ngeruma
@ngeruma Жыл бұрын
Thank you! i've been wanting to do that underwater effect for ages but usually underwater just means death :) I have no idea how anyone would find that third trophy just by playing normally, especially since the other 2 were so easy to find, one of them was literally just sat out in the open lol, if there was any clues i certainly didn't spot them. I figure tuleby is from Czech Republic from the (CZ) bit, so typos can slide plus trophy is kind of weird word anyway :) Thank you for watching and thank you for standing up for Back to the Future with me! we can't let everything get rebooted and ruined! As always, thanks dude!

Time jump is surely a great map. I remember playing it in 2021 while i was hyping myself up for portal reloaded. Its kinda funny how many of those time travel maps have green portals, and of course Reloaded also has that. Btw cant wait to see u play Reloaded! Ive watched a diff. Ytber play it and they gave up after 2 or 4 parts so good luck ;)
@ngeruma
@ngeruma Жыл бұрын
This one was a fun one yeah, and i think i might have even subscribed to it around 2021 time too when there was all the talk about reloaded. I will definitely be playing reloaded at some point and i'll do my best to see it through of course, i hear it has some really complicated puzzles so it might be a very long video series when i do get around to it! I wonder why green is the colour of choice for time travel? As always, thank you so much for still watching these and commenting! :D

Nice! What a cool chamber. Really fun puzzle and "story". Great sound design, presumably on your part, when underwater. So, Aperture was able to create the portal device, all those gels, the ability to put a human consciousness into a computer AND time travel, yet they still failed to survive. You'd think they'd have had a clue when setting up these time travel chambers that something in the future seemed a bit off, ya know? ;) I'm with you on the Back To The Future movies. No Touchie!
@luckyperga
@luckyperga Жыл бұрын
Im just thinking... if they put up those time portals to see in the future... that would mean they saw what was happening, but did they see the future that they have already changed, or that theyre gonna change...
@savasyn
@savasyn Жыл бұрын
Excellent point! Maybe they kept changing it and it kept getting worse. Hence the dangers of time travel, right?
@luckyperga
@luckyperga Жыл бұрын
@@savasyn Maybe! It could also be a causal loop, meaning that whatever they change will have that outcome. So they saw the future, wanted to change the dilapitation, and they themselves caused it

Sounds like Aperture. I'm curious where in the loop the "let's add neurotoxin pipes with vents controllable by our sentient computer throughout the facility" decision seemed like a good idea ;)
@ngeruma
@ngeruma Жыл бұрын
The time "jump" idea was nicely implemented in this, chucking the player through made the transition feel special. I've been wanting to try adding more sound design into the videos for things like that, i'm thinking doing it through out a video, for all the different types of spaces would be too much though, so probably just bits like the underwater, i did try doing something for that bit in intruder when the balls break and we are in space but i couldn't find a way that sounded right. i've been wanting to do the underwater sound for ages but the opportunity never comes up, usually under liquid just means death :) As for Aperture and time travel, yeah you'd think it might of given them a heads up about the whole neurotoxin thing but as with all great time travel movies/story excuses, ....."sure, but this is a different time branch" :D I'm really pleased so many people have commented about not rebooting Back to the Future too! those films are sacred!

3:18 - "Panelable wall" 3:48 - That's exciting! Looking forward to it 👀 4:08 - 🤦‍♂ 10:35 - Chell's immense girth 13:45 - Given how this puzzle works, I'd just avoid calling it past or future since there's no causality between the chamber sides :P 16:34 - Welp, that sucks :/ 18:15 - Amen brother 🙏 Good work! I personally prefer Reloaded because the actual time travel part is meaningful (instead of just a world portal connecting two somewhat similar looking puzzles) :P

Panelable Wall sounds so funny

@ngeruma Жыл бұрын
@HugoBDesigner 3:18 i'll admit that some of the words i make up are awful, but you all always know exactly what i mean when i say them lol :p 3:48 I will definitely be doing it at some point 4:08 ...every time, ....at least once per video 🤦‍♂ 10:35 gaps like that really should let the player through or have some kind of visual "no pass" element to them :) 13:45 you're right, nothing one side could actually effect the other, you'd think it would of involved that though, especially since theres square glass tube that "at some time" gets broken, and it really looked like it was supposed to be part of the puzzle somehow, otherwise it was kind of unnecessary? 16:34 no idea how anyone would find that just through playing the map normally :) 18:15 I'm people are agreeing with me on that point! Back to the Future is perfect and rebooting it would be an insult to the trilogy. I will definitely be doing Portal Reloaded at some point, i imagine it will take me quite a few videos to get through as i hear some of it is really quite difficult, but i'm looking forward to it :D As always! I did try to get the third one the proper way at first too, and yeah i agree without the guide i have no idea how anyone would ever be expected to look there, probably the most concealed easter egg that you are meant to find whilst actually playing that i think i've seen, especially since the other 2 were so easy to find. I don't think they _can_ reboot the BttF series now. The US public actually _did_ the thing BttF2 warned us not to, we put Donald J. Trump in charge. I'm not being especially partisan here, the "Dark Hill Valley" timeline was designed around the idea of what some place would be like if Trump were in charge. The shocker is that Bttf2 came out ten years before his first run for POTUS by a decade. If they tried the Dark Hill Valley storyline now, people would realize it was Trumpian and consider it just another attack on their favorite politician instead of just being true to the original storyline. Also, while I think I could see a successful replacement for Michael J. Fox, even if I wouldn't like it, I am really not sure you could replace Christopher Lloyd. Though, if I ever think of this comment in a decade and everything isn't buttoned down tighter than a metaphor's asshole, I will try to get an AI to make a short video where Lian Nielson plays Doc Brown.
