I love how non western cultures couldn’t care less about anything else but functionality. They prove that you don’t need a 3000 sq ft house to make it. All you need is a willingness to work, a roof over your head and food in your belly to be successful. The women in those countries are tougher than most of the men in the US. The consumer culture we live in is a curse not a blessing.

I come from a mountainous province in Vietnam, life in the mountains is still difficult, there is not much modern technology. All the work I do is to have a better life. I love seeing these young girl/women working with wood and they know so much. This girl is amazing. Dag, she's learned all this to work with wood, building her own house. How many people, let alone women, can say that they've done that. Great job young lady. Keep up the great work. You can do anything. Learn to work with concrete, too. It's easier than most think. I'm 64 and the past two years I've rebuilt our concrete steps outside and our basement steps that go from outside to inside and I've also coated the walls in the basement to clog up leak spots. I've still got some to do down there but I'm not done yet. The world is your canvas. Have at it. :)

When I was a child, my house often leaked water. rain, my parents did not have the conditions to build a better house. My childhood was very hard and hungry. When my siblings and I were a little older and could help our parents, my country gradually developed, and the mountain people gradually escaped hunger. Currently, where I live is still very difficult and quite backward. Have a good day.
