This video shows a timelapse of the construction of James Turrell’s Ganzfeld (‘Virtuality squared’ 2014) at the National Gallery of Australia as part of the ‘James Turrell: A Retrospective’ exhibition.
James Turrell’s Ganzfelds form his largest and most spectacular series to date. Each is specifically designed and constructed to fit to a space. The use of coved corners, inclined floors, uniformity of surface and controlled lighting causes a loss of depth perception on the part of the viewer.
