Time Lapse Home Builds

Күн бұрын

In this video, our clients were able to bring forth their dream of building a new house in a neighborhood they love. A plan a few years in the making led to us demolishing the existing 60-year-old house and building a custom designed house in its place.
This time lapse was shot over the course of seven months while we tore down the original house and built the new house.

Thanks, very cool video and the house turned out nice! Wish the trees at the back could have been saved. What kind of equipment/camera do you use to film something like this? I'd like to do something similar when I build. Thanks!

Thanks! It's hard to tell in the video but a lot of what was taken down were invasive trees. The one in the back was a maple but the driveway for the new house was going to be right up against the tree. From our experiences, the trees this will end up killing the tree. The camera set up I used is from Camdo. They have a complete setup that utilities a go pro camera. The setup includes a weather proof box the camera mounts in that holds external batteries and a proprietary device Camdo has made that allows that you can set schedules to turn on the camera, take a picture and turn the camera back off. The device also has a plug in for a mobile hotspot/dongle so that the pictures can upload nightly. They also include a solar panel to recharge the external batteries powering the whole setup. It's not cheap but it worked great for me.

@@timelapsehomebuilds221 Ah, that makes sense about the trees. They can be very delicate when you get into their drip lines and root zones. And thanks for the info about the setup I'll give that a look!

@@notshylo Yea, we wish we could save more with the houses we build but it works out nice to plant new ones at the correct grade height and in better locations. You're welcome! ... I'm not affiliated with them in any way but was really happy with how it all turned out so I'm happy to to recommend them

@@timelapsehomebuilds221 the camera looks like a great solution! One question that occurred to me is where to mount it? There’s are two power poles across the street from the site, but some quick googling suggests that mounting anything to those is probably a no-no. How/where’d you mount yours?

@@notshylo that is the tricky part. Thankfully there was a massive oak tree out front that was staying so we took out a couple limbs and were able to mount it in there about 25' up. Do you have any tall trees around your lot? You could try putting it on the utility pole with a note on the camera to contact you if it needs removed and hope for the best but it's a lot of money to potentially lose if they just tore it off. The other thought I had for future projects is trying putting a 6x6 post in the ground and try to get the camera 15-20 feet in the air that way

Was there a basement in the demolished home?

There was a shallow crawl space that was removed and filled in with sand prior to the excavation of the new house
