It’s amazing how you start the show hating Flynn and then realise he is the one that got screwed. They took a good man lost in his grief over the loss of his wife and child and then gave him hope he could get them back by doing a few bad things. The end justifying the means but they never told him he wouldn’t get that ending instead he ends up sacrificing himself so they all get the happy endings it’s so sad

Do you really think that he would have done any of that if he didn’t believe he would get them back. He was trying so hard to make it right and they went out of there way to stop him then realised he was right he was just going about it the wrong way and joined him. He believes right up till I think just a little into season 2 he was gonna get them back. When he gave up and realised it wasn’t going to happen he then tried to make it work with Lucy but that didn’t work either. I really felt for him in the end. No one gives a time machine to someone who has just lost there family and believes they won’t try to change that

A perfect scene, everyone has waited for this all along. But why Lucy never changed some of the parts in her diary to give Flynn a better understandig of things to come to be able to treat History itself more with care. After all in the end she knew that the man did not understood everything in it. That should work by Heisenberg´s concept that an observed object or event changes in the process itself. At least she could have added a commentary to the diary

So in the end(less) Loop it's Flynn who gets to suffer. It's like the saying 'you either die a Hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain' in Flynn's case he was both. A villain with a Hero's heart and complicated legacy.

I think Flynn is still alive and Lucy changed the past and future here and created timeline 3 because she told him he won’t get his family back.The whole time in the show he was doing whatever it takes to get him back. So he either knew the whole time in the show that he was never going to get them or this is the start of timeline 3.Where Flynn is alive.

Infact at the begin Jessica was death and Flynn was alive even he killed her , this fact could have changed again and again. These loops will never be equal. Maybe after he met Lucy again (Lucy could have changed words in her diary , we didn't considered that and no one knows if she changed something ), he decided to turn back instead of resting there in the past dying looking at his family .

Every time I see this it reminds me that Flynn knew he would never get his family back and still did all the right things he could. He’s in an endless loop where he gets to see his family only for a moment before dying and then being tortured again. It makes me cry every goddamn time.

There is no loop...future Lucy gives the notebook to past Flynn once, then her life continues. Flynn already suspected the time machine existed, so probably there was an original timeline where he discovers and steals the mothership to wipe Rittenhouse. However that presumably went to shit, maybe that's the timeline where from future Wyatt and Lucy visited the main timeline. And Lucy clearly creates the notebook in the timeline that went to shit, so she knows a way of creating a more or less ideal outcome, which is the timeline presented in the series.

Eg: A future where Lucy and Flynn save Titanic and makes out to being ending up together! Eg: Rufus dies and Future lucy-Wyatt brings about an updated LifeBoat to change things for the better. Eg:Rufus came back Flynn dies and Future Lucy visits Flynn to set things in motion Eg: Lucy never boarded on The Mission and still lives with her sister. But in all these timeline A Future Lucy visits A Flynn to set things in motion for an endless loop of time experiencing a different future everytime based on the choices they make. So all these timelines are happening and changing over and over again.

If this series would get a second chance I found it good if there would be a solution as in Poul Anderson´s TIME PATROL series, meaning the team gets in contact with a well developed civilisation from the future far above and building up together a police force guarding the status quo of the time line.

When you figured out like me that the orginial script was from the OLIVARES Brothers trying first to make a deal with Sony Pictures and Universal you understand more about the FLYNN characterisation The brothers had meht him in the offered script to be a modern Don Quichotte, a man following an impossible dream and almost braking by it. The song from the musical THE MAN OF LA MANCHA; A DREAM AN IMPOSSIBLE DRE-AM expressed it best. That musical really was top hadling The original work by the Spanish author Cervantes by questioning the idea of Heroism. That is Flynn in a nutshell, a Dreamer fighting against impossible odds trying to make his world a better place. That point is another treason why the European Courts cried Plagiat when TIMELESS got out independently from the work of the Spanish authors. What really bothered me about the last episode is; the whole time they needed to be buckled and have only 3 (and eventually 4) people in the time machine.. Then in Korea, all 5 jump in like it's no big deal, with no side effects or mention of it..

Because Flynn told Lucy that when she came to see him in the bar in 2014, she was from 2023, so to be safe, they waited the 5 years until 2023 to go back to 2014 and set everything in motion..

Jamie Garcia You miss the point. Flynn spent so long and did so much to get his family back, only to turn around have a new family to save. He wants to save the world and the team, but he’s done fighting. One last big favor to the team, trusting them to get the job done. And in the end, he got to see his family one last time and say goodbye to Lucy. For all of his motivations and behavior in the show, him jumping out to a seemingly unnecessary death wasn’t bad writing, it fit in the context of his character.
