Classics are great for me, I like to dress well but don't like to fuss with my clothing. So once an outfit is something I'm pleased with I'll just keep wearing the same pieces for a long time. Also wear black often as it looks good on me and so easily goes with my other clothing.

My summer wardrobe needs some classics. But in the winter, I wear lots of crew neck sweaters (or jumpers, I guess). They look good with jeans or pants. I have some that are patterned and some that are plain. I also think that sweaters are slimming.

My wardrobe is mainly made up of classic colors as I’ve always been on a tight budget. I love Navy and White together but also Navy and Tan, you just can’t go wrong no matter what the occasion or season. I have a large selection of classic tailored trousers and blazers due to my work in the financial sector through many years. One day - many years ago - my then 8 y.o. son came home from school saying "Bodil (visual art teacher) says the brain loves colours - that colours make the brain happy. Do you think that is true?" "I think Bodil is absolutely right", I replied - and a conversation about flowers, colourful animals and nature in general followed. That statement kind of made an impression on me - and made me think about my own relationship to colours. My home was mostly decorated in white, which was a trend back then. And after a look at my wardrope I realized that most of my clothes were black, navy blue, white, beige, grey, and brown - and a few things in a descrete olive green. Again, because this palette was expected in the bank, where I worked. Yes, all very classic, timeless and appropriate colours, but also very dull - and a bit sad actually. So since then I have made a deal with my self to also have a generous selection of "happy" colours; red, pink, orange, yellow, turquoise, and spring green in my wardrobe. They certainly do lift my mood and spirit just by looking at them - so I warmly recommend also to have a go with a more "daring" colour palette - even if you are 50+. I've also added some colourful couch pillows and art pieces to spice up my home. It is indeed true: colours make the brain happy! 🤩🤩🤩 Many greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰 💕🤩

I love Lily silk, I just had surgery and I bought another pair of there wonderful silk pajamas. It’s my third pair once you wear these you cannot wear anything else. Since I have to recover for quite a while, this is what I wear during the day I love their clothes and have a list of things I want to buy. I have several silk blouses that I wear a lot.🇺🇸❤️

I love a good striped button up oxford shirt. I have had one for over 10 years - it’s a Lauren by Ralph Lauren cream colored with black stripes. Black or white jeans (or trousers) have always been staples in my closet.

I love a timeless plain sleeveless black dress, midi length that goes with me on trips as I can dress up or down. Depending on the season, heels, ankle boots or slides and either jewelry, scarf or jacket. Love the stripped shirt with jeans… definitely a uniform for me… thanks so much!!!

....Miss Diedre... I love " 3rd layer " look, and "2 nd Layer looks, with an Overshirt.. I've done this for YEARS, and you're correct.. with a Linen blend shirt, a beautiful cotton blend shirt or even a crepe, a silk.... it's just a way to pull an " upscale casual " ensemble together without looking like one is ' trying too hard", because it usually looks just right for an everyday look. I will also use a hip length, stylish lightweight cardigan, depending on what the day has in store, lol. I ❤️ the white denim dress, .... I would probably wear a stylish white sandal, with a bit of metallic, OR, a metallic sandal shoe , a metal chain belt ( that complements the shoe) and simple jewelry. That dress is perfect example of what one can do with a lovely white Summer dress ! 💯 👏🏻.. Well done ! Thank you for all the lovely ensembles and you looked lovely wearing them ! My failsafe combination is a white shirt, dark wash bootcut jeans, tan belt paired with tan suede wedges, not forgetting my sunglasses. I'm not a fan of sliders as they add bulk and make my slightly wide feet appear even wider. That striped silk shirt is beautiful. Your outfit choices have given me a few ideas and no. 8 is my favourite to pull off. I just adore your ardent delivery, have a good week ahead!

I love the two-pocket white linen shirt. I’m naturally busty like you, Deirdre, and the standard advice is “no chest pockets” for this figure type. I find the exact opposite is true, two pockets visually breaks up the expanse of a large bust, analogous to the way a V-neck does. It is one of my favorite tricks, actually, people don’t see “big boobs” (a word I hate), just two nice crisp pockets in a shirt like this. Most of the standard advice for a large bust is from me, or women who don’t have one, I’ve found. Like “wear wrap dresses”, the worst advice ever, there’s never nearly enough fabric in these to cover the fuller bust I have.

So I hate stripes, am also top heavy & don't look good in blue so do you have other classic looks or colours? As for white...that is great but unless you are doing nothing but sitting around all day it gets very dirty. If you're travelling, out with children, or doing most things outdoors...white clothes just get dirty very quickly & are hard to keep clean so they aren't practical for a long term part of your wardrobe.

However, the real thrust message of my video was to highlight timeless outfits and why they’re timeless so that everyone can adapt these looks to their own wardrobes. It’s not necessary to wear all silk to look timeless. Any classically cut dark trousers and a classic striped shirt would create just as timeless a look. I hope this helps. Take care. Xx
