They have some nice homes like this on Delmar, but they are gated, too. It's not like people can just walk up to them. Can't say I blame then when some of the worst crime in the nation is just a few blocks away.

The crime rate in St Louis is deceptive. St Louis City is separated in these statistics from the greater St Louis Metro area which is uncommon in metropolitan cities. If you look at the Greater St Louis Area and St Louis City combined, it is right at the median when compared to the rest of the country.

What is interesting to know is that these mansions, or if you prefer McMansions, were only able to be built by buying up lots and lots of smaller houses and demolishing them. My sister was offered a ton of money for her house. The two neighboring houses had accepted the offers made to them, but she refused incurring what must be eternal wrath from those neighbors. 😂
