These takings and not less importantly .. the way this man sounds while talking to us... reflecting and sharing his opinions on important issues of life touches me very deeply. I just love listening to him. It eases my mind and pleases me somehow ..but still inspires me and challenges my belongings to learn more. These are among things that make life beautiful. Thanks very much Ajahn Siripanno :-)

With respect to Ajahn Chah and Ajahn Siripanno and condolence to your late father Ananda Krishnan who had passed away on the 28th. November, 2024. With good roots and to live a spiritual life is the best. Everyone comes and goes with their own good and bad karma and impermanent.

I came from Thailand,this's the way human need.. Life is cycle. Thank.
Today I understood that ill health poverty and death are not really a part of human suffering. A guy who is in the hospital bed may actually not be suffering from inside. It's just his physical body that looks like it is suffering. His soul might actually be in a very different state. A state of calm and peace. So it's better to not panic and unnecessarily try and put resources in saving people's bodies. The soul is more important. This is a valuable lesson I'll practice in my life going forward.
@HM_123482 ай бұрын
Caring for the body is important and necessary to enhance the quality of practice and learning in life. If a person is ill, they should be helped, as this is essential. Additionally, using terms such as "soul" does not align with Buddhist teachings, as the concept of a permanent, unchanging self in a world characterized by constant change leads to suffering. We say, "You are the true self; take care of your true self and do not become preoccupied with the notion that it is fixed." I wish you happiness. May all being be free from suffering

I love Ajahn Chah's simple and down to earth teaching of the Dharma. I would feel exactly the way you did had I encountered him in that frail state. Indeed, why do we assume Ajahn Chah was suffering.. Bless that Bhante who gave you such a skilful answer. Metta from KL.

Interesting. A wise saint who is sick and physically diminished can still help his surroundings till the moment he dies, that's what I experienced.

สวัสดีครับ. Well said. It's a great irony that while death is a certainty, it's the one thing about which we know nothing. There are many speculations, and religious traditions have given them authority and credibility. The Buddha taught that the best way to prepare for death, to die well, is to live well.
@silwen11412 жыл бұрын
Ahahn Chah speaks so well and follows the teachings of a man, good in many ways no doubt and sincere. How different it would be if he were to read the Bible and realise Jesus was also a man, his birth was predicted and He came, preached that He had come to take away the sins of man with his body and his blood as atonement (for sin). He died 2000 years ago, on the cross as a sacrifice for man. After three days He ascended into heaven, conquering death and ascending as the son of a living God.
@julianongpin71814 жыл бұрын
The Buddha and his way is a friend of the Lord our God, the way of the Dharma is that of peace, and the way of the Lord is that of sacrifice. Both may be granted eternal life i believe.

With no disrespect to Jesus and Christianity, all I can say is that the Buddha's way is the right one. And Ajaan Chah is right to follow the Buddha's way.

life is full divine spiritual values and virtues as we are blessed souls to shared the divine love with all as all are emanated from only ONE SUPREME ALMIGHTY CREATOR who prevails in all souls as ONE as such we should not hurt and hate any as by hurting and hating others we are injuring our selves and THE CREATOR. We should live as one race and carry out our simple prayer towards the path Eternal Bliss of Eternity.

Myself, I do not accept religious indocrination, but in some respects I am Eclectic in accepting many concepts in relation to those which are helpfull in endevouring to relise a fundamentle truth which lead to understanding the knowing of the continuity of permanent existance. There is no act of sinning, as this in it's self is a self impossed structure brought from religion to allow you not to feel guilt within the comcepts of a religious society....

2/2 - Anyway, please do not get me wrong. I believe Siripanno is a sincere man who gave up earthly pleasures just like Buddha. It is really admirable and very few people [reminds me of the Christian missionaries who also gave up so many things for the sake of the Gospel] in this world are willing to do that.

It's a simple chant, paying homage to Buddha. "Namo tassa bhagavato arahato samma sambuddhassa" - "Honour to the Blessed One, the Exalted One, the fully Enlightened One" But I'm not sure about the last line. It's a bit as "Buddham, Dhammam, Sangham saranam gacchami", "I take refuge in Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha", but he says the last two words shorter...

Whilst you argue many a specific point; it is believed that Jesus was taught the Buddha's concepts via the Essens, and this is why so much loving kindness is followed through to today. Merge the two individual concepts and you have the Correct formula?
