The Y2K bug is one of the most frustrating chapters in IT history. When disaster didn't strike and planes remained in the sky, the overwhelming public response was "oh so it was just a big fat nada." Tens-of-thousands of engineers worked tirelessly, rigorously testing and patching their software, digging through numerous generations of legacy coding language, and they did such a stellar job solving the problem that the public was convinced there was no problem at all.

@williammetz75002 ай бұрын
Came to the comments when I heard that to see if anyone else caught it. King George VI died in 1952, at which time Elizabeth became the dowager queen (the former queen consort of the deceased king). As someone who married into the family, she had no claim to the throne, so her daughter (also named Elizabeth) became queen regnant. As the mother of the monarch, she also became the queen mother. BTW, should Camilla outlive Charles, she will be the dowager queen, but not the queen mother, as she is of course not William’s mom.

This is admitting my age a bit but I was old enough to vividly remember every single one of these things happening.. (Runs to find the 1980s videos) I forgot how much I enjoyed this channel.

In the year 2000, I was in 5th & 6th grade. Most of my life memories started that year with all the life events that happened. Can't believe that was almost 25 years ago! Time flies fast! :)

2000 was also the year of the first and only crash of the Anglo-French built Concorde which saw the beginning of the end of supersonic passenger service. All Concordes were grounded for a year for refit after the accident. Coincidentally the first test flight after refit was the morning of 9/11. In the same notion, the downward pattern in air travel subsequently led to it's retirement by its operators by October 2003.
