i just happened to watch this one, do enjoy your programs..... when i watch programs about places i often look them up on google earth to see the place better when y'all talk about them..... interesting on a lot of them including this one from the view you get on google earth i am able to see the arial view that you use.... just to the south west of when you found things in the trees i could see what was the outline of a large building or something.... different from where y'all were looking?? but neat to find and see things using this program from the sky.....

Roman Historian Guy de la Bédoyère actually raises a very important question at the end of the program. How long will today's records survive? Aside from rock carving, parchment stored correctly is a brilliant medium which lasts for an extremely long time. Compared that to today's mediums. Practically no information stored electronically today will ever come near. Neither does paper, and I have tested reputable printer companies' inks, bot with natural light and strong UV light, and they fade. It leaves a lot of question on how much of our lives today will be recorded for posterity.

that does assume that something quite catastrophic happens. Unless that occurs, there's unlikely to be a point in time where mankind simply decides to toss away all our records until now. Most likely we'll transfer all (most) information to newer techniques. And who knows what storage mediums we will create in the future. I also wonder about future archeology techniques there will be. Perhaps straight up time travel, or some way to extensively track atoms or energy back through thousands of years. Maybe we'll simply be able to reconstruct entire scenes out of thin air. Whatever WE imagine will happen in the future, could fall far short of what will actually be possible.

I'm surprised once geopolitics didn't find anything you didn't look for crop marks in a helicopter. After that you need to remember that during the ww2 all the available land would have been used to grow food and any trace of buildings would have been destroyed. Archaeologists - Get Site History, Maps, Artifacts, Fossils, and a written record from a short range of Find Times in History. Archaeologist calls other Archaeologists and they all do a "Snoopy Dance" + agree to dig. *Day 1 or Week 1:* "they all disagree on where to dig. But they get their Spot and begin. They find period artifacts and they are re-charged. *Day 2 or Month 2:* 8 of 9 haven't met their expectations, but there's 1 that's certain he's on target. They all get Paranoid and *"the Doubting of The Data and Story begins."* The earlier Peoples surely exaggerated, their minds being lesser evolved and they had such beliefs and imaginations back then, ya know. *I mean Modern Mainstream Archaeologists are the Individuals that hold a 19th Century Theory as their fact foundation, established a Paradigm around it with a linear Timeline and force everything to fit into it ("like trying to put Cinderella's Shoe on Drucella's Foot")* + they defend their Theory like it's a Religion and await that "Missing Link" like.
