Everyone commits abuse at some point in their lives as we're not impervious to mistakes, nor getting extremely emotionally overwhelmed. Moreover, Johnny Boy has had a terrible life story in regards to him growing up, and unfortunately his relationships turned out each time to be with yet another abusive woman, like his mother. So it triggered him, and to avoid being physically abusive, he would sadly go into his coping mechanisms which was namely alcohol, but sometimes drugs too. And for the record, within the trial, Amber was proven to have lied about her multiple allegations of physical abuse which claimed Johnny was the violent one. Injuries faked. Proven. Alongside a former relationship he had was yanked into the trial all because Amber made up another lie on the spot in court, which forced her to step in to testify on her behalf as one of those Johnny supposedly abused, and she straight up admitted the story of that abuse was a lie and it never happened. So in the end, yes he may have had a history of mild physical abuse, but it's minimal incidents that are verifiable, and they thus were like anyone else - EVERYONE has at least one point where they've gotten abusive, physically or otherwise. So to hold that against him is absurd. To hold the claims Amber made against him when proven false is unjustifiable.
