I failed a subject because I did "self plagiarism" seriously I filed a complaint to the school. At the time I didn't know it was illegal to use one assignment for two classes. Self plagiarism was never mentioned in the student handbook or was discussed during orientation. I won and ended up getting the lowest passing grade.

I plagiarized twice. Once I handed in a copy pasted like 30 page science report in middle school where only the first couple pages were written by me. Teacher knew it was sketch but couldn’t prove it at the time so I got away with it. Second time I just handed in a book report that I had written for another class a year or two prior, and my mother found out and told the teacher and THAT I got in trouble for. Honestly, I’d have taken that Public Speaking thing up with the school as a serious complaint. If they’re testing you on your Public Speaking skills, that’s a completely different thing to testing you on your Speechwriting skills. If anything, they should have given you the speeches to see what flair and skill you bring to them. It’s an oracy class, not a writing class. To fail it for plagiarising a speech is unfair and definitely complaint-worthy.

Not really, while it sounds a bit odd they still are testing you for scriptwriting skills as well as citation being mandatory in any academic setting. In fact she was exceptionally relaxed with the consequences as typically plagiarism, especially on such an extreme level, normally receives MAJOR consequences. Typically failure of an assignment is expected, sometimes even failure of a class, and in extreme cases expulsion or revocation of a degree isn't unheard of, though these are typically edge cases for habitual plagiarism instead of a singular case.

Same ways as an extrovert actually. I'm also introverted and don't mind public speaking, if I must. You just have to develop social/communication skills and develop confidence in yourself or a level of apathy in others opinions. Introversion doesn't mean that you have bad social skills, it just means that you prefer solitude or smaller groups to 'recharge' over parties and lots of social interaction. Granted, someone who is more introverted does have less drive or opportunity to develop social skills or overcome any social anxiety they might have. Edit: If I had to give one tip though, it would be, when talking to/in a group, only talk to a single person. The person can change while you speak, but act as if you're having a one-on-one conversation with them. It's a lot easier and a whole lot less draining that way.

Fun Story: When I was in 6th grade, my english teacher made us write a paragraph about our favorite animals for homework. So I wrote the paragraph and turned it in the next day, and then the day after I turned it in, my teacher called me over to her desk and she told me she put a couple different sentences from my paragraph and put it into this thing that found some of my sentences from multiple different websites, and she gave me a 0 for PLAGIARISM. How? I wrote a paragraph about MY FAVORITE ANIMAL. You can take any sentence and can find it from at least one website. So that system is broken but yeah. Hope you like the story.

I plagiarized a sypnosis that explained the story of a book I was supposed to read around my first year as a student at SCAD for an art history class- and the professor found out and it costed me my final grade, and I never did it again. SCAD is strict on plagiarizing, but the professor didn't add it to my student data because they gave me only an F and to consider it a warning for future classes.
