Mr. Sanyal is hitting the nail on its head. As a person who has worked in the government, I really appreciate his understanding of the issues and efforts to iron out the wrinkles. Keep it up Mr. Sanyal! But the real success is not in doing a few reforms like the ones you mentioned (even though they are useful) but in creating a culture of cleaning and replicate that across all states. Believe me the rot that exists is wide spread and complicated. One of my seniors went to attend a problem on a IBM machine in 1982. He did is job and reported to his boss. He asked bosses permission to allow him to clean up the machine of cowwebs and dust that had accumulated on it. The boss sternly warned him NOT to attempt it as that may open a Pandora's box that their company may not be able to manage. This really is the approach of all senior government officers. As a result a lot of rot survives. Kudos once again!

Now that we have taken up ship building seriously, we should also consider building ships operating on Hydrogen engine. This will give us additional advantage of saving in fuel cost and never ending reserves of fuel.

Awesome examples from Sanyal ji on ASI and Labelling. Most efficient dept need to do few changes every year. Great start doing it with labelling. We can further enhance it by having a draft notification a month or so before so industry can prepare itself prior to the final notifications. Such a joy listening to this transformation of Bharat!

Sanjeev has become economic adviser but in that capacity, he has not advised the PMO strongly enough about the deleterious effects of addiction in India's society. Especially in the middle class. After 3 decades of liberalization, we see a sustained uptick in consumption patterns that suggest the middle class itself is increasingly veering towards instant gratification, irrespective of the economic realities around them. This has profound downstream effects, especially when one takes into account the fact that this new "gratification overdrive" doesn't discriminate according to gender. India wishes to preserve a certain way of life that unlocks human potential, and therefore we are on a collision course with the oligarchs and protectionists of the world, whether we like it or not. More importantly we are up against a zero sum thinking : Mayhem here helps strengthen hegemony there. And this needs to be countered effectively, in thinking and in action.

I disagree with Sanjeev Sir with the Reforms! Why should the People gather up and ask for reforms can't the govt do it themselves. Seriously one of the most strongest Legislatives ever do those reforms you've the number when you had them you wasted it and now you're saying Oh...it should be a bottom up effort. No come on Mr. Modi is famous for a reason and that is that he can and he should make these reforms enough is enough. WE need Structural Reforms as well and 20/28 states are under BJP and these States shall bring reforms as well.

Private sector even the owners of the top thousand companies are investing huge houses in different cities, ornaments of enormous values, and marriages….why can’t they remember that people in the lowest 30% percentage or more don’t get wages and salaries anywhere near per capita income of developed companies..The PAT r are distributed between shareholders with all members of the family members, some richest private shareholders, top max 1-3 percent top executives of their companies…..not even free hospital and education sectors that their forefathers were providing free to there employees and their dependents. @@hrp4566 Don't just throw around the word corruption willy-nilly. That's the nature of any company... to maximize profits. Only if they see returns, atleast in the future, they will invest in any sort of R&D. In countries like US the local corporations get market protection from foreign companies and may also get subsidized if they want to invest in future tech. The recent stargate project announcement by the trump administration is one such example of future tech being subsidized by the govt.

That 10 percent is nominal growth which means inflation is included in it . 5.4 percentage is this quarter growth. On average 7 percentage growth with 3 percentage inflation will give you 10 percent growth over a long period of time . This means your economy would be doubling every 7.2 years !!

@harshitsingh1600 that's the expectation. It doesn't not appear 7% can happen at an average. We need also cut down rupee depreciation with dollar. It's 5% in past few months. So there is a effective 1-2% growth this financial year. This way we can never develop at all.
