The explosion happened on the ground as the plane descended NOT in the air . Holes on the plane is not evidence of missiles because if it was anti missiles systems, the plane would be obliterated in the air NOT waiting until it gets on the ground.

So they are trying to say Russian air defences shot down an aircraft that was turned away from landing in Russia and it crashed approaching a landing where it came from in Azerbaijan? Why do they think Russian air defence shot it down then? Shrapnel marks is no proof of anything... a Ukrainian drone could have done that. Russian AD systems like Pantsir or S-400 would have destroyed the aircraft, or at least done a lot more damage.

Pure speculation. If a missile hits such a palne it would have exploded into pieces. The plane was traveling from the Azerbaijani capital Baku to Grozny . Ie on the Western side of Caspian Sea. But it crashed on the East Side of Caspian Sea at Kasakhstan Territory which was never in its route!.

What fascinates me are the wild lies from all sides. Addendum to the Euronews invention - Grosney is 450 km from Aktau airport. The S-300PM-2 has a maximum range of 200 km against air targets. The S400 - 48N6DM (which is not used in Grosney, however) up to 250 km against air targets. And to deal with all systems directly - The 2K22 Tunguska only has a range of 8 km. The 96K6 Pantzir has a range of up to 100 km... In other words, it is a complete invention that a Russian anti-aircraft missile from Grosney was used against this aircraft. Simply have a look at google maps and check it!

It is known that there was very dense fog in Grozny, and the aeroplane pilot considered other alternatives. Russian air defence system has very powerful radars, and they do not need a visual connection with the target. Ukrainian drones who were at the exact time attacking Grozny Aero port need a visual link between the operator in Ukraine and the drone. As drones entered in fog, their vision was severely limited because they did not have radars. There was a possibility that the drone operator in blurred vision saw an aeroplane approaching the airport and realised that he needed to act very fast to score a hit. He knew that it was a passenger plane but did not care, it was over Russia, so he detonated the drone charge when he realised that that jet was faster and it would run away. Shrapnel damaged the tail section as well as the engine. Damage was not so severe and all would be fine if the pilot could land his jet as soon as possible. However, that proved impossible due to heavy fog and unknown damage to the aeroplane. However, the pilot's decision to cross the Caspian Sea and land in Kazakhstan was too much for the damaged aeroplane, and it went down and crashed into the airport. If the reason for the shooting down of an Azerbaijan aeroplane was the Russian SAM system then due to the much larger warhead of over 100 kg the plane would be hit either at the front or midsection and in both cases the aeroplane would have barely a few seconds of staying in the air not flying for an extended period. Handheld-man pad launcher of any type has an Infrared head seeker only, and it is usable in clearly visible conditions and not in case of fog. "Ukrainska Pravda" and other Ukrainian media reported about the crash shortly after it happened, stating that the aeroplane hit a large flock of birds, which caused the engine to blow. It was as if they knew that Ukrainian drones were attacking the airport at that time and wanted to cover up possible Ukrainian responsibility. However, as there are no official reports about the reasons for the crash, it is very irresponsible and immature to start a blame game just because the Internet is free ground for any kind of accusations. If the Russians did it, they would say so and accept full responsibility. Remember that the shrapnel in the jet fuselage is still there as no fire was present as well and both black boxes and live witnesses will have something to say. If it turns out that it was direct Ukrainian responsibility then Putin should be forced to unleash hell on Kiev and target Zelensky and his war criminals. It is time that someone tells Putin that it is the time to get brutal with Nazis. Now he is all excited waiting for Trump's call as every good poodle would do.
