it is not only hamas. there are multiple armed resistance groups, very heterogenic, ranging from communist to nationalist to islamist. Israel has no chance in urban combat, big part of their army consists of reservists, out of shape and not well trained. They are strong when terrorizing civilians, or protecting rabid settler attacks in the west bank. There is a youtube channel "Mahmood OD" very well spoken and knowledgeable analyst, fluent in hebrew and arabic. He livestreams every day, you can ask questions and he also published a very good book on the Palestinbe/Israel conflict, free to download. I highly recommend his channel because he has up to date information on this genocide/conflict, overview over the israeli society/media as well as the palestinian resistance.
