I watched the memorial on live & was in tears the entire time; Redi's tribute was beautiful. I didn't know Eusebius (had never heard him on radio) but felt like i knew a bit of him, from his podcast & social media. I loved his bravery & how he would be real quick to call out anyone in his comments section. Wow, a great man that will be sorely missed. Thank you for being authentically YOU, for being intentional in all you did. You have my respect. Rest in eternal peace. ❤

I was at school and university with him and we kept in touch on social media. UB was who you heard, saw or read about. He had his detractors but who doesn't, especially when you engage on the kind of topics he did throughout his life. He was always honest in our interactions and didn't sugar coat anything but at the same time you knew he did it because he cared enough to take the time to try and set you straight. He really was an amazing guy and I say that as someone who butted heads with him on a few occasions.

Eusebius made it a lot more difficult for my friends and family to get away with tacit racism in the same ways they were used to. That's one reason he had so many detractors. On Eusebius's watch, you didn't get to be covertly racist or sexist in these insidious ways and not have him show you precisely the inhumanity of your position. Some people around me at one point said they couldn't listen to him on the radio anymore and I thought, "Good, let it all be known. You're reminding even me in this moment who you are and how much empathy you truly have." That is one thing I really appreciate about Eusebius and I'm glad he had as public a platform as he did. We needed it as a country and still do.

I'm still in denial about this tragic and cataclysmic loss. I felt like I did know him, listening to him on the airwaves, as well as downloading his podcasts, without fail! A courageous, bold, and brilliant tour de force, he was! I shall never forget meeting him in "Smellville" many moons ago after a debaucherous night with a dear friend! What a pleasant surprise it was meeting him for the first time! His intellectual prowess was second to none. May his eternity into the "next room" brighten the heavens above. I AM PROUDLY GAY because of him, and I can not thank him enough for all that he did, just for being über AUTHENTIC! The very last HOORAH - in pride month no less - is achingly beautiful. The remarkability of a life fully lived will carry us through for all and sundry. Cheers, squire! 😢😩😩🎉🥺🤍🕊 P.S Redi's tribute was other-wordly. It came straight from her heart. I thought of her after hearing the news, amid weeeping and wailing like a banshee. My brother called me from Mexico about the devastating news!

😢😢😢...Mam Redi I feel your grief...im still in disbelief ...I'm disappointed with myself for not listening to my favorite shows on 702 in the last month or two for the very same reason cos of my own trauma...became withdrawn..and despondent with life....n 702 was it for me everyday every morning and afternoon would wait for yours ie until you retired from 702.. n Mr UBs shows...loved his intellectual conversations n outlook on life.....n im angry that ive not heard his final words in the last 2 months....silence is indeed my avenue of showing my expression of any loss..for me self isolation has become my norm when faced with any casualties or deficit...it's emotionally draining but that's become my way..sadly so....we definitely lost a great sole and was hoping to see him engage more on the state of our nation...sad sad day his absence for me leaves a void that I'll never be able to reason with going forward cos e went so young...I'll miss his analytical and critical way he thought of life ..I've in my own way not an intellectual wish I was I found myself in similar thoughts as he did...n won't stop at telling people that life's got to change for the truth is all that matters for a better life...and unfortunately we don't have many of us around to have this platform to inspire youngsters in the way UB. did...whilst lies continue to manifest itself in our society..we needed more of him....😢😢😢😢
