I think there must be two angle to denial entry to Mr. Anupam Kher. One is his personal security at the time of tension charged situation. Second is the law and order situation and anything going out of hand at NIT Srinagar. Both these things could be handled in a better way. Anupam Kher could have been allowed to go out of the airport and if not conducive to safety and security, he could be stopped at the door of NIT institution. This is second time such entry restriction have occured. The first, if my memory doesn't fail me, one was of the greatest orator leader ever witnessed was Mr. SHAYAM PARSAD MUKHERJI. He was jailed and very unfortunately died in Kashmir jail in itself. But its repercussions were more unfortunate. The then CM of J&K, Mr. Sheikh Abdullah, was in due course of time, charged with treason and jailed for ten long years by h,is best friend Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India.. Times of changed and the country has come a long way. Present Governments in the center as well as in the states remain, at times, mute spectators too greatest defamatory utterances just to show it is a tolerant society, although much can be said for and against this type of governance,

Almost all ancestors of the Kashmiri muslims were Hindus, and this was reflected in the moderate Islam practised in the Kashmir Valley for centuries, even as late as 1975 when Sheikh Abdullah signed a pact with Indira Gandhi to bring J&K into mainstream India. Unfortunately, his movement for independence was hijacked in 1989, and the word 'Azaadi' by which Sheikh meant independence from both Pakistan and India, became convoluted and became Azaadi from India only.....how can Azaadi mean independence from one country (India) and dependence on another country (Pakistan)....the outcome has been that Kashmir has become a complete mess with an obfuscated vision..."paekistan nus paeyi treth!"
