"Everyone benefits from Time Team". Great statement. That's why you need to come back to television.

Great to hear you talking about this episode. I was very lucky to be one of the detectorists involved during filming. What a great 3 days and what an honour to be involved!

Thank you so much for this! My favorite TT digs were the Anglo-Saxon gravesites, and you referenced my top rewatched episodes here-South Carlton, Bawsey, Braemore, and I believe the dog burial was in that backyard in Raunds, not Braemore. South Carlton had that wonderful burial of the man clutching the pot, presumed to possibly be a lush who was buried with his drinking vessel of choice. As a Yank, I was introduced to Time Team originally on the old History International channel, then through KZbin and now streaming services. I have loved archaeology since the mid-1970s, when I was ten and introduced to ancient civilizations and famous digs like Troy, Ur, and Knossos. (I asked my archaeology major niece her opinion of Schliemann, and she just shuddered in horror, rightly so.) Watching shows like TT and Digging for Britain, and following various Dig Diaries online, satisfies my thirst for the subject. Too bad the virus is cancelling digs this summer-I miss the Ness of Brodgar diary updates!

"Never find a man with a spade". Phil Harding might have something to say about that.
