Tim was an empty bottle asking to be filled up--but none of us filled him up. Each of us should have been filling Tim up, one after another, until Tim was full. But we didn't. No, all we did was laugh at WC and let Oscar dazzle our eyes and drink our bags of soda--and Gregg was the Dark Puppet Master we blithely followed like sheep. Gregg undercut Tim at EVERY opportunity, because deep down Gregg KNOWS he has ZERO talent and the only reason he's the guest on anything is Tim's bottomless love. If Gregg had a cooking show he’d just read the nutrition labels.

1:31:00 Just realized why Gregg never features Heath Ledgers Joker in his Joker segments. He's angry that Heath's early passing meant there wouldnt be more of Heath's Joker for Gregg to enjoy and as a film buff that's just not acceptable from a professional actor when you have such great character like the Joker

In all seriousness, my guess is that Adult Swim didn't want to produce another one because even though the Oscar Specials are some of the funniest productions they've ever done, they still gotta be absolute money suckers and probably doesn't earn nearly enough to break even, I could be wrong though.

slap n pop I kind of always got the impression that this was more of a side project for these guys and may have been intended as a one-off to try the streaming media. These have been pretty amazing, though. It has to be draining to stay in character for like 3 hours.

You're probably right. the Oscar specials are amazing, but while watching them I've often wondered if the small Niche audience viewership could justify the production work that goes into them from Adult Swim's standpoint

I think what makes mark such a good character in this is how he plays such a perfect straight man. Gregg and Tim are used to each other’s lunacy but mark isn’t so he just responds to it all like a normal shy person. Scared, awkward, confused, skittish, occasionally speaking his mind (especially if someone else is doing so) but is very easily shut down. Gregg and Tim are living in these delusional nightmares where they think they’re famous directors and film buffs and Mark is this window back into the real world where he’s like “yeah man, the drive out here kills me especially when you only need me for like a half hour.”
