After getting the spend the day with good friend Sam and JR exploring Tagatay and enjoying their wonderful hearty soups, bulalo, I thought I'd do some exploring on my own as the friends have tired out. So glad that you are able to join me.
After visiting great places like ‪@OkadaManilaIntegratedResort‬ Buffet and ‪@solaireresort‬ 's Lobster buffet, I was excited to visit the Spiral Buffet at the ‪@sofitelmanilahotel‬ . For years, I have great things about this luxurious seafood buffet from the greats like Mike Chen and Mark Wiens, but never had a chance to visit even though have worked in Manila years back (it was all work and cup of noodles to tie me over). But now, I'm so grateful to meet up with great friend (in person and virtually) to enjoy this massive feast! And yes, massive it was! A touch of luxury with the decadent lobsters and seafood with a bit of pretentiousness (in the best possible way) with a cheese room offering 100 cheeses from the aromatic to the pungent. The the dozens of different stations, all preparing dishes to perfection, the ones to look out for was definitely the French station and the Asian noodle station. From seafood to prime rib, and foie gras (for those who indulge) to balut, there's something for everyone. An above all else, it was the people; servers and hosts made it special and it's always a treat to meet new friends and fellow guests.

Hi Tim ! I like the way you describe the food. Of all the vloggers i have watched who ate in Spiral , you are my favorite ! Not in a hurry to eat, and to explain whats on your plate . Very satisfying to watch ! What do you mean by the smell of the cheese room is wonderful , but just for a short time ? I would love to try that iberico hams , also the different butter spreads ! And so much more ! Will not leave without getting those seafoods ! I think the large shrimps you got is called ULANG . My favorite ! The rice cake is called PUTO BUNGBONG ! I went to the Spiral in 2018...excellent. I came back to Canada and had the opportunity to go to Vegas the following month. I went to the Bachanal to compare and basically...there is no comparison. Eating at The Bachanal after the Spiral was like eating at a soup kitchen!!

Asian buffets are soooo much better. One thing you'll notice is that they almost always have hot food being prepared in small batches so usually way fresher. American buffets are more about herding in and the dessert stations are such a sugar bomb.

Almost felt bad that you didn’t get to try their foie gras in the pasta station. Spiral buffet is really luxurious and kind of overwhelming. Its so huge! You should also try the unlimited wagyu at the HEAT buffet in Edsa Shangri-La they call it mad for wagyu and they have it every Saturday. In all the buffets in metro manila Spiral is definitely my number 1 followed by Heat in Edsa Shangrila and Fresh buffet in Solaire. Outside of the hotel buffets, my top 3 buffet restaurants are, chef Laudico Guevarra’s in san juan, Dad’s world buffet in quezon city and sambokojin. Love your vlogs Tim. Continue doing what your doing. Hopefully you could go back in Spiral and try their foi gras. Lol. Bless you brother.

Tim - If you like stinky cheese Christmas is the time to get it. Many cheese stores import the best around the holidays. France and Switzerland have many soft rind soft and semi-firm cheeses that fall under what you're looking for. I had a good something called Vacherin Mont d'Or that was soft rind and had the consistency of honey which you could drizzle on a baguette. I would also recommend Delice de Bourgogne. It is smooth like butter. Others I would recommend you would like are Chateau de Bourgogne and Saint Augur. The last one is blue but is soft and tastes wonderful.

Ok this is 1 of my longest review. Amazing buffet, wish u had let us know how the stinky cheese tasted like? Loved how they did the duck wrapped up,the mussel egg fry looked delicious. 1st time I saw u take very big bites, over/over. I have a glass of wine when I watch ur videos and enjoy w/u. Beautiful spiral interior. I put this on my bucket list. Thanks 4 sharing,great job,shared w/love. The sashimi looked so fresh.but I didn't see no fresh ginger? Oh what a wonderful buffet! I think much better in quality than Vegas! Just the charcuterie portion is amazing! And the butter! I would have to hit up the bread or crackers! And the tomato butter on some pasta! With todays world and people's manners - I quite like the way it is behind glass and you are served! It's not like you can't have as much as you want, and the servers are asking if the serving suits when it makes a difference (ie prime rib) - and everything remains fresh and pristine. And I would imagine there is less far less waste - simply from what doesn't end up on the counter - among other reasons. Oh I think I need to watch this again in case I missed something! 😅 how was that pancake thing with the mussels? Don't leave out a bite Tim Lee - except maybe that egg thing! 😬😃❤🤤
