Great video! I have myself done such a video about him, but this one is really better, wonderful job! I just have to add some little corrections to the palmares at the end : he was 6x european champion in teams and singles event, he won 3 world championships silver medals in teams but only one time bronze in singles

Hi - the main reason I called it that is because he is European...and most of his accomplishments were in the European tournaments as he never won the World Champ singles or Olympic Singles :) I would still consider him a legend but its mainly on the European Circuit.

so a legend is only someone who have won big titles, your opinion.. but i disagree. timo will also be remembered as one of the greates players after his active time. even without big international titels. this is what legend means to me. same with vladi etc..

denjell112 Hey - its not really my opinion - its the nature of sport. Big titles and achievements are key to giving someone a "legendary" status in any sport....I agree that in terms of their ability, persona and overall careers, they could be classed as global legends. But on stats alone (which is how the history books are written), Timo wont be seen as a global "legend" as much as others that have won everything. But I do agree with you - he is a legend in my eyes, just not from a stats point of view!

I didn't say that - I said that only those who have won an Olympics or Worlds can really be classed as "Legends" or "Greats" - take Waldner for example. Waldner was the first main danger to China - the difference is he went on to win all the prestigious titles the sport has to offer.

Its called that mainly because he is a European player and the majority of his big achievements have been on a European scale. I know he is famous around the globe but that doesn't necessarily give him a "legendary" status in terms of his ability and results. But I would agree that his name is legendary across the globe, its just his stats dont back it up enough to be considered among the greatest of all time.

Josh Stacey that s not what he meant with European, as long as Chinese are beasts in this game, there were just few Europeans that could handle with them, like waldner, timo, (vlad, otcha, less affective). So they use to be called European legend just because they take part of the few player who defeat, and not just once the Chinese superstars. timo has been 1 no. in the world, waldner has even more archievement, and he s considered one of the best ever.
