Timone's journey

Timone came to us because he is very nervous in certain situations.
Standing tied and standing at the mounting block are his biggest challenges.
This is his journey.
In this training session we focused on standing tied and assuring him that he is ok and doesn't need to.be fearful when tied.
I use haybags for these types of horses. Food means relaxation and you can see how he is fidgeting in the beginning and finally stands nice and quiet even with the saddle on.
A nervous horse isn't misbehaving. It is fesrful because his fkight instinct is kicking in.
That means there is a physiological-chemival reaction happening.
Triggering the para-sympathic nervous system by "desensitizing" isn't going to fix the issue.
Retraining the para-sympathic nervous system will fix it.
