Back in 1990 I took the L to the South Side in order to watch baseball at Comiskey Park. Had a great time, too. So glad to see the line is still in operation and in good shape.

I love the "El" and I can't wait to get back and ride all the routes again soon.

Nice little Subway! The trains and the city seem to be so clean. I like that! Thank you for sharing with us.

I liked the view of part of the "Loop" at 4:04. I last rode the "L" in 2007.

Thanks Tim for a great review! I've had good experiences riding the L in Chicago. Three or 4 round trips Evanston to the Loop. A ride on the Lake Street L with my Dad many years ago. Also a Metra train from Des Plaines to Chicago (my first experience riding a double deck commuter train).😀😀

This is the best 'Streetscape eyesore' video I've ever enjoyed! This is NOT a 'Streetscape eyesore': that was a term used to describe Boston's elevated trains before 'DIS'mantlement by the very population that didn't appreciate a damned good thing until it was too late thinking they were speaking for an entire city; Chicago (shown here 👍) had its moments, too, trimming the fat [and even in recent times] compromising for protocol where some lines should have been left well enough alone: i.e Green Line's Jackson Park (now renamed East 63 Street) Branch could have been continued if the bridge over the railroad tracks had been replaced while previous station stops @ University and Dorchester may have been preserved for the future, but some dumbass minister thought he was doing God the honors by condamning (note intentional misspelling) the el because it was ruining his sermons-at least the Paulina Connection came back at a price with a new viaduct replacing the old one, now part of the Pink Line; New York City compromised, too, for warfare and corrupted real estate (all that $$$ gone to waste on friggin' condominiums and labeling them as fair housing), but still has elevated trains as extensions to keep rapid transit alive and appreciative; Philadelphia compromised especially for a highway project that wasn't finished yet [despite pillars] when the rerouted Market•Frankford Subway Elevated Line opened up finally with/without disrupting service: the old tunnel portal is of interest, especially from a bird's eye view before closure for the current one; foreign cities with similar elevated structures still thrive 'where located'.

The train is also called the Chicago “L”.

There was also a “Metra” train in the video.

I think that’s a 5000 series. (It might be not.)

Stainless is easier to maintain and easier to remove graffiti from.

No need to paint stainless steel 😉 We'd lots of such unpainted commuter trains in France, some are still rolling.

@@davidpanton3192 they used to have red/white/blue stripes on the front and gray window trims. Big mistake to get rid of that.
