I found this interview just today and I can’t help feeling, as I watched Armie Hammer, what a huge waste. The guy had everything and lost it all because of the sordid things he did. No more career, his wife divorced him and now he working in an hotel in the Cayman island to stay close of his children. It must have been heartbreaking for Timothée Chalamet to see the downfall of someone who used to be a friend.

I love that Armie said "The movie show, No one paid to being gay, no punishment, nobody get sick, nobody has a wife that they need to tell or family drama" that great, most of LGBT movie always show all of that problem, but this movie show pure love.

Sweetheart I hate to bring you back down to earth. But in the real world homosexuality indeed does have many consequences-disease, broken relationships, rampant drug and alcohol abuse and general emptiness. Sad but very true.
@jduchiha46566 жыл бұрын
@@dg-sl5jb Point is that this is generally what films tend to highlight. Telling realistic stories is great for everyone gives us something to relate to and learn from but what OP and Armie were saying is that it's nice to have some lgbt stories where the main character doesn't die of aids, commit suicide, do drugs or desert a family that depended on him. We're not all diseased/selfish, ya know

Omg when will we learn to stop questioning celebrities sexualities. It’s so hurtful and damaging. People did it constantly with Shawn Mendes and he explained why it’s such a horrible thing to do. No one cares if you ‘think’ that their a sexuality other than what they’ve told people they identify as, it is NOT anyone else’s place to decide that. And can we stop shipping actors together just because they’re good actors and portray their CHARACTERS relationship really well. All it comes down to is being talented actors and good friends.

I saw the movie on the Zurich FIlm Festival. It is such a awsome movie. Hammer is really good but Chalamet's performance is just stunning. I'm looking forward to see it again.

I agree with Armie 100%. I saw the movie and it reminded me my first crush, my first love. Bittersweet memories. Chapeau, Armie and Timothée. You are fantastic actors. I bought the DVD and I saw the movie several times and I like it even more every time.

I read the book front and back many times. Elio paid the price of falling in love during the entire timeline. He cried after they had their first sex together because he knew that it will tarnish everything that he is protecting; emotional attachment to be more precise. He knew then and there that Oliver was really going to be his love and when Oliver mentioned the famous catchphrase, they had an underlying agreement that they will be one; Oliver is Elio and Elio is Oliver. If we’re looking into the present perspective while they are in love, yes they were experiencing self-loathing moments but they cannot afford not to give in with what’s in front of them: that’s how passionate the love they shared. However, Elio was the only one paying the price when Oliver got married. It was a really hard time for him to meet his wife and kids just because he still can’t get over what happened 15-20 years earlier because it was his first and he considers Oliver the one that got away. Elio in the book was so passionately in love that he got hurt and got so deeply in love with Oliver.

At the end of the day it is a bittersweet love story. We love who we love. When his father tells him how lucky he is stresses this point . To love in such a vulnerable and wholehearted way is the most beautiful gift ever. One of the few movies that did justice to the book. Serious props to all involved.

This great movie would probably resonate with anyone on some level. Anyone in their teens who has ever had a crush on an older person who is just a free spirit can identify with this film. The last scene with Elio in front of the fireplace resonated with me. Yeah, I've been there.

Aw timmy avoiding the woody allen question the best he can. I feel him, its such a trouble. You wanna be in movies and breathrough, he’s not responsible for woody’s actions, and he’s just has an amazing oppurtunity and took it . I see a lot of hate towards him about that. I dont think he should be held accountable for working on a woody allen movie, he is not at fault. P
@blueskybelyr7 жыл бұрын
miss 305dale He's an adult, and responsible for his own choices. He's not blind or deaf or incapacitated in any way, meaning he knew about the allegations against Woody Allen and still went to work for him. I also don't see how working for a known child molester would further your career in this climate of #MeToo. He fucked up by making an incredibly tone deaf selfish choice. He's not a bad person, but let's not erase how shitty the thing he did was.
@sheezaejaz70867 жыл бұрын
Blue Sky he posted about this on Instagram and said he can’t speak more about working with woody Allen due to contract issues but he said he doesn’t want to earn a penny from this movie and said that his entire salary will go towards three charities- Time’s Up, LBGTQ, and Rainn
@blueskybelyr7 жыл бұрын
Sheeza Ejaz The contract thing was proven to be bullshit. Even if the apology was genuine, an even better gesture would have been to avoid working for him altogether. But acting sorry after being called out on social media is okay too I guess?

The movie is a beautiful, relatable love story. Love and the pain that can accompany it is universal.
@corrinnesnyder4 жыл бұрын
i think the sensuality makes it so much more beautiful and thought provoking than if it had been overtly sexual. it’s not a movie about sex, it’s about a bond between two people, about the desire, care, and love they experience. it’s love and loss and the intimacy of a beautiful relationship
