I love Tim. He is a killer with no filler, and all of his matches feel more realistic and grounded. I am happy to see a fellow Timothy Thatcher fan give him the praise he deserves.

I really appreciate the comment! Yeah Thatcher is the perfect blend of realistic without just being dull matwork and some entertainment from his body language and selling. Next videos will be on Rush and Inoki, so if either of those are to your liking subscribe to stay notified!

Big thatcher fan. I hope I can. Wrestle him once before his career ends. Definitely in my top ten favorite wrestler of that influences the style of wrestling I want to work

Thatcher somehow making it all around the world, even to WWE while still wrestling a very old style is such a mark of how undeniable his talent is
@GuntanksInSpace Жыл бұрын
There was one excerpt from I think Maffew from Botchamania watching EVOLVE with Thatcher twisting someone's arm off. While most were silent, IIRC Maffew said he booed the guy and he actually kinda saw Thatcher get a gleam in his eye as he would NOT release the hold because he's a despicable dude bent on breaking his opponent's arm lol. I think it's that and me being a fan of his way of wrestling that made me a fan, and this video hits a lot of the stuff I like about him. Also his series with Biff/Oney rules. As did him vs WALTER in Progress. Also yeah he perfectly pulls off the No-nonsense throwback minimalist type that a lot struggle with.

Sounds like Thatch alright. He does the little things so right that they build to great performances. There are many great workers, especially old school guys like Ric Flair, Savage, Piper, etc who only really do meat and potatoes limb selling + great expressions, but they do that to build a narrative rather than just moments that get gif'd

I don't know nearly enough about Hase to talk articulately on his career, if you have any particular matches in mind that I should look at, let me know! One of my only sources of exposure to him was his tag match w/ Kensuke Sasaki vs The Steiners

@@wrestlingwthenarrative Hase vs Chono matches are good. His match vs hashimoto was my first introduction. He also had great matches with akiyama ,kobashi, and kawada, and Tenryu. He also known for the muta scale match with keiji

Timothy Thatcher is the most authentic old school catch wrestler if he was around during the 50s and 60s he would’ve dominated the territories

God his British accent is the funniest shit I've ever heard. His voice is so deep and silly that he is unable to do anything else
@wrestlingwthenarrative Жыл бұрын
My usual problem with Lee is that his grappling is a little too "pretty" and devoid of grit to me, so putting him in with Thatch would be lovely

@@wrestlingwthenarrative most definitely, I’m a sucker for the Connor/Khabib dynamic of flash being swarmed and suffocated until they either drown or overcome. The 2015 BOLA also has an abstractly funny End/Gulak match where Drew grapplefucks away all of End’s striking for 10 minutes and the crowd bites on every potential “cool gif” hope spot

@wrestlingwthenarrative Жыл бұрын
Almost anybody who consistently watches him shares that take, a few say he's boring, but the biggest problem is just a lack of people talking about his work. You rarely hear prominent critics or journalists giving him praise

@@wrestlingwthenarrative its very odd no ones signed him long term. There no drugs, criminal record, reports of him being a bad attitude, nothing like that. Hes certainly unique at the moment as far as "free agents" go.
