@BillyTimes-dw7vs I'm living in my car so that I can build my house in Mexico, I've spent about 50k building a two story 5 bedroom house. Last year I spent 30k renting an apartment in Encinitas CA for a year. That was so stupid of me, I could of started another house with that. Lesson learned though I'm never doing that again.

I moved to Germany for 5 years, and returning to America has been my biggest regret in life. It's a shithole compared to Germany, which has far better work-life balance, safer, cleaner, food is healthier, healthcare is superior and freely available. No homeless camps, no ghettos. Where in Germany, may I ask? My German friend of 30+ years tells me frequently how Germany now is very different from the Germany I knew in the 80's. She talks about the big homeless problem they now have, increased crime, gas prices, rampant immigration, & how they don't dare drive through town with the doors unlocked anymore just to name a few things. Your description sounds more like how it was when I left in the 80's.

I reside in Japan, and it’s truly a place I adore. Witnessing four and five-year-olds strolling to school or shops independently, carefree, encapsulates the serene lifestyle here. My living expenses total just 1800, covering all bills, yet I dwell in a splendid waterfront apartment-one of the finest. Dining out fills about four evenings a week, and with two dependents, life feels enriched and balanced.

I'm not looked at as coming to steal entering a store, no tension when a police man approaches me in Asia, no police helicopters flying overhead, I haven't heard a gunshot in 7 years in 5 countries, I don't worry about being gun down by the police or by another black man, the internet is faster over here and cheaper and all that it takes to live overseas means nothing compare to the bullshit in the US, add the fact my savings has blown up my trading account, other than for family I don't see myself coming back no time soon.

keep shopping around for your car insurance. I did and saved over 120.00 per month. we were being charged out the wazoo, work from home, barely even go anywhere other than to run errands and my rate was ridiculous, despite having clean driving records, no claims for years. They told me it was because I live in a high risk "party" type of city. I understand that to a point but we do not engage in what the self indulgent crowd does, sick of paying for everyone else. And you have to have it here or they impound your car. go two weeks without it and they can do it. it's crazy. I also found a trick another agent told me to do. If you have medical thru your employer, you can drop the med pay on your car insurance, it did save me a decent amount. you sign off on it to decline it.

I think one of the biggest factors that could help is to get off social media and be very picky with the news you consume. Right now it’s in vogue to trash America and plenty of young people are along for the ride. It might help if we stop listening to people complaining about racism, gender, oppression…etc. us Americans have it so good, truly. While I grew up in lower class, I still had access to running clean water, supermarkets full of food, relative safety. Compare that to actual oppression like the Uyghurs in China or the gangs that control South Africa’s energy…that is a real issue. This isn’t to say America doesn’t have her problems, she definitely does. But we can work to make it better. Plus if many have the same thoughts as you the coveted countries will become overwhelmed by immigration, it won’t represent what they are now.

Leaving America is my current topic of discussion. I have friends who were here in America and they went back to their homelands and we are talking about me immigrating to one of their homelands. I no longer trust America, I don’t trust the Government, I don’t trust the “healthcare system” and I most certainly don’t trust the food in the grocery store. And we are taxed to death. I don’t watch television at all. Leaving America is definitely a real possibility for me within the current year.

Man, thanks for saying this, Timothy. I'm European and I live in the 'happiest' country (Finland) in the world, and people here complain about the same exact issues that you listed during this livestream. Most of these issues aren't specific to the USA; rather, they're issues that most countries are currently facing. I used to be one of those people who wanted to move away from my home country because we're facing similar issues that your country is currently facing. I currently speak three languages and am learning a fourth. I have a university degree, I'm young, and I'm a skilled worker, and so on. But the point is, I have everything you need to succeed in another country, but I decided to stay for now. Why? Well, my long-term girlfriend, soon-to-be fiancée, is from Eastern Europe, and she grew up (mind my language) in a true shithole. Yet, she is the sweetest and hardest-working person I've met during my life. She has all the reasons to be bitter and angry because she truly got dealt a bad hand at life, and yet, she doesn't have a single bitter bone in her body, and she loves this country. This country gave her all the opportunities she would've never had growing up in her home country. And here I am, thinking about leaving this country because I've taken everything for granted, complaining about dumb shit, getting depressed for no reason. Like, come on, man. So, what I'm saying is that some of you people (me included) just need a good ol' cup of true suffering to appreciate everything you got. Most Western people have never experienced true hardship in their lives. Real suffering builds character and puts everything in perspective. I still want to leave my country someday since I have a dream that I want to live in the USA or Japan someday. But for now, I'll be staying and bitching less.

Tim is right on. I live in Bangkok. Moved here so I wouldn't have to work like a dog, and can have a decent standard of living. I'm in a luxury building on lovely grounds, delicious food everywhere, beautiful women all around me and can live stress free within my means. So why is this seemingly idyllic lifestyle unsustainable for me ? Because i VERY MUCH miss my own culture, in a land where people speak my language and get my sense of humor, and am not looked upon as a foreigner (that really gets old after a while). I'm just gonna be honest here - expats I know that have relationships with Thai (beautiful & young) are ultimately unhappy. I would love to walk into a cafe, sit down, and have a nice conversation with the locals also having their morning coffee. People don't speak to each other here. Now I'm not saying this goes for all of Thailand, or even for other expats living here. I'm just one person saying that I have found all the answers and conveniences by leaving the country - except it doesn't really work.... for me. People will realize that you can't just leave on a passport or things like a digital nomad visa. Without residency or citizenship in another country you can't stay for any meaningful period of time. I left 12 years ago and don't regret it at all. I was able to achieve the American dream abroad plus healthcare, more vacation, superannuation for retirement, etc. I get culture shock when I visit the US and my kids were born abroad so they do not have a personal connection to the US., which makes me consider renouncing my citizenship. We can thank relentless corporate greed and corrupt political leadership for the decline of American. When the entire society is built around extracting as much money as possible from working class people, of course that will lead to cultural decline. Americans are unhappy and angry because corporations have ultimate power over every aspect of American life, including government, and that level of unchecked control is unsustainable. I too am planning to live outside the USA, at least part time, when I retire because I don't see a way out of this downward spiral. To be clear, I don;t think America is declining because of its people, it's declining because the powerful people that control everything are out of touch with the average American experience, and they have no concern about how their actions are ruining the country.

I packed my bags sold half of my stuff and gave away the rest of my stuff. I moved to The Philippines 2 months ago and I am loving life here. The food is healthier here, the people are friendlier here, and the prices are less than half of what I was paying to live in overpriced America. I have no regrets about leaving America and I have zero interest in returning to America anytime soon. I live in a nice 5 bdrm house, all my monthly bills are less than $1000usd monthly cable tv included.

There is definitely an intentional agenda in America to keep people divided, distracted, and fighting against each other. I wish more people could see these fights are being organized and rise above it! I also encourage travel…you can travel without relocating.

I’m currently grounded in the US. Have thought of moving abroad and I’ve even traveled abroad. But due to circumstances I’m here for now - and that’s been a blessing because I realize that wherever I am I am. If there are issues, I’ve got to be flexible, make some changes and make things better for myself and those around me. I found there are some good things here - I seek out good and have to filter out some of the not so great things. Like I stopped watching the news a long time ago. But there are some good things here - for example like Tim said, I’d love to visit other parts of the country. For me it’s about thinking about and choosing that. The US could do a lot better but no country is perfect.

You hit the nail on the head. I am in my early 30s and “go to school, get married, buy a house and have kids” isn’t a reality for a lot of men and women my age in America. That’s not a complaint, but it presents an opportunity to explore the world. Everything else going on in the country like the cost of living and the political climate almost makes it a no brainer to leave if you can make money remotely. I board my flight to leave America in two months.

Love this. You, my friend, have got a new subscriber! I’m heading to Romania in August and am looking to leave America soon. The country has become infantilized and divided. I’m tired of both sides arguing and not being flexible to change. Here’s hoping there’s a big change in the future.

Coming from outside of America, one thing that appeals the most is the nature/wild life/open country and the infinite economic prospect. But, to partake in alot of these things it's surpsingly costly. I do believe there's no reason to live in America if one is living paycheck to paycheck and also does not partake in outdoor activities.

I just got back to Miami from Asia. There were about 10 people sitting around me coming back home from other countries they are planning to move to in order to flee American problems. Men and women of all colors and backgrounds were saying the same things. Start planning people. I'm 43 and I'm checking out of here in 10 years. It costs $2000 a month to live a fun traveling life as a single man there. I met thise people.

I am a bit disappointed in this video. I graduated 2012 with a bachelor's degree. This was around the same time the country was going through this recession. I remember, like yesterday, I was applying to every single job, even jobs beneath me. Not one phone call. I went through countless interviews, never hired. The following years, I barely got by. I always said to myself, if I was born outside the United States. I would have had a family. There is no way in hell I would have a child in tbe United States, I will try my best to give them double citizenship. America needs to be held accountable. This year, I am planning to go to Mexico. I also have friends in Europe. Everyone I have spoken to have either lived or traveled to other countries. The ONLY reason why I am returning to the United States is to WORK. I do not hate America. But it is time, for the American people to be honest with themselves and their fellow citizens. It is time for our children to STOP going to school and taking out unnecessary debt, Unaffordable health, working full time and STILL not being able to afford a place to sleep. We need to hold ourselves ACCOUNTABLE. Thank you for reading and God Bless America.

I am an American living in Thailand and it's amazing. There are some very miserable Western men here tho lol. There are some beautiful parts and people in the States but it goes beyond that. Being beautiful, having a nice landscape and seeing kindness in people still means that it's located within the U.S. Thailand has it's problems like everywhere else but these are partly not my problems (they don't affect me) and also these problems aren't the things that I can't deal with. Also, as a woman living here is a kind of safety for myself and my kids that you can not imagine. There are things I miss and enjoy about the states but once you are out and able to see it with a new lense? It looks different. There will always be people there to hold the U.S. together and make change. All of us are won't be leaving. But as for me and my house, this is the best decision by far. Also, I have lived in the Middle East and that wasn't for me.
