I have the same kiln and never could figure out how to preheat. This was very helpful! Thank you for posting!

Thank you for posting. I have a Bailey electric and have never candled but I'd like to start. This was helpful; I have my Bailey is similar in programming.

With this particular skutt you can set a cone fire pick your cone/ramp rate you want, then hit the top right unit button, then hit 75 on the key pad to bring up a pre heat prompt, set how long you want to pre heat then hit start.

Andrew Carrizales that preheat button is great and all but eliminates checking the work and kiln to verify that everything is dry. For me that’s more important than convince. Setting a over the top preheat is also possible but it’s wasting time.

Timsee clay ah ok got ya, I can't tell you how many times I've heard "I wish my skutt had one of those preheat buttons like the new ones", nobody seams to know how to find the preheat setting on the older controller. Nice to see a bit of the other side of making pots.

Thank you for this comment!! I couldn’t find this command anywhere and have been running ramp hold cycle which took a looking time with the firing!

Hey! Why do you omit turning the fan vent on for wetter works?
@timseepots2 жыл бұрын
For wetter work it helps them dry evenly

So after the preheating time is up, do you switch to the slow cone fire program? (My older kiln doesn’t have a preheat option.)
@timseepots4 жыл бұрын
If you set it up like I have talked about here when the program is done I then start the slow firing for a bisque.

So Tim, you went to lengths to explain how you loaded the kiln, you do the drying cycle and then... Nothing, where is the results. Blaaahhh !
@timseepots2 жыл бұрын
Well the bisqued works are pretty much the same thing as how they went so you can just sort of play it in reverse.
