When I finally got my own place with Internet bought a PS5 and I haven't stopped playing as someone who missed the release of warzone 1 . Ghost is the dark horse of the entire cod series, this game evolved cod. You could customize what your soldier looked liked, celebrity voice overs, guns that had multiple conversions(maverick ar/sniper and the ripper are/smg) maps that changed and unique killstreaks (Michael myers and the predator) not to mention extinction was perfect

In case people don't know, Treyarch was forced to make those World War 2 games (or any game of a past era or make a future era game) because infinity ward solely held the rights to all "Modern era" Call of Duty titles. That is why they never put out a modern shooter. Now, I haven't followed along for some time now, so I don't know if those contracts have expired but at least in the past that is why they were always forced to do something different than infinity ward.

God I wish we could’ve lived in a world where IW didn’t fall apart during MW2, apparently they had a patch ready to nerf OMAD Tubes, Commando Lunges, and some other bull shit before they got fired, such a shame. MW3 was kinda like a nerfed MW2, so I wonder what that original team could’ve done with MW3 if they never broke up, bummer. I am on the team that likes ghost as well, probably the best time for Competitive COD, League Play BO2 was the best ranked play in history, but Ghost made Comp COD blow up like crazy

Yes you are right that it isn't literally "dead" but in terms of being a triple A game and only getting declining player counts, it is a dead game, its not even competing with its rivals anymore.

It had its perfect momentum in pandemic era which caused more players to play and stay in house but sadly went away after 2020 2.The games were becoming mid after mid after Cold War. 3.BTS on the game making and leaks which already spoiled so many people but their fanbase always complaining about "sbmm" or smth

Little details he missed though, like not including Blackout (COD's first BR), MW@(2022)'s negative reception, and having the modern warfare 3 (2023)'s being taken over by Sledgehammer once again. It will never die, it’s been here for what 20 years now? League of legends is 10+ years not going anywhere. CSGO? There is a 2 and it’s free now, I think that is 20+ years. Any game that lasts 10 years as a multiplayer game is never going anywhere it’s a beloved hallmark in gaming. We will simply hate the shitty releases but there are no games that can properly compete or mainly kill cod. Madden, 2K, Halo.. etc. they go nowhere ever.

A lot of people forget that ghosts was the console switch game back in the day. People disliked it before it came out and many struggled to play on old gen. As such a lot of people stuck with BO2 and shit on ghosts despite barely playing or not playing it at all. There’s a reason a lot is misremembered about ghosts and why tons of features from ghosts have become popular in future games.

The way I see it, they should start doing a MW title (current settings, fast paced play, modern weapons) Black Ops Titles (past or future but still boots on the ground. Exploring different positions in the past and possible future conflicts, more methodical gameplay. And finally, and Advanced Warfare series. For the people that still want the advanced movement, crazy stories, and a hodgepodge of everything. Make that the 3-year cycle, and if the title you prefer didn’t hit as hard, try out last years or wait for the next years. It gives each series a large life cycle, different types of play for different people, and they can continue battle pass and seasons for all three. More money!

I like how he said the franchise was dying from ghosts until MW reboot which just isn’t true. They were still breaking sales records every game. In fact, in 2016 when IW caught a lot of slack and hate while BF1 was adored, they still outsold it. COD has just always done well, IMO the difference now is it has no competition in the AAA space, so it just continues to soar.

Ghost was amazing! 💯% I wish the aliens mode was a little better but, it was amazing. It had bigger multiplayer maps that felt like you were playing a Battle Royale.🔥 I am sucking it off a lot here but, the story / mechanic / guns / customization / gameplay everything was awesome. 💪🏆 I just wish that they would have expanded on the aliens mode a little bit more. 🤙

I disagree with his take on Black Ops 4 completely. It had plenty of content. It was actually refreshing that Treyarch focused on what people bought COD for, which is the multiplayer. I don't know how you could be confused why it was full price, considering it released with the most multiplayer content of any other title. Blackout, zombies, and multiplayer, it was easily one of the most fun titles they have released.

I remember coming home after picking up a copy of MW3 in 2011. And while it was good, you could tell it wasn’t move a forward and felt like copy/paste. To me personally that’s when it started to change, minus the exception of Black Ops 1-3. Activision has been an evil and greedy company for a while. Keep in mind, this is also the company that bought Harmonix and RedOctane and pumped out Guitar Hero out to death. And YES, I enjoyed Call Of Duty: Ghosts.
