I think it's more than likely that this is an Anti-smurf measure and that Warzone can see his Hardware ID and know it's still him and placed him in his normal lobby level. It can't be that hard to see a Hardware ID and match it to avoid smurfs if you don't publicize that the game can do that.

Last night I ran some games with my buddy who was literally brand new to call of duty. Took him 5 minutes to figure out how to queue us into a game. First lobby was the God lobby of all Bot lobbies. After that it was typical sweat haven with cdl skins everywhere and he got wiped on repeat and uninstalled after 2 hours. Huge issue with sbmm. And im trash too so the sbmm shouldn’t have been too hard on him but it was like cdl tournament every game
