This is a 5000 gallon pond we supplied all the equipment for and advised on the build.
The pond itself is finished now but the groundwork is still to be completed which will be done as and when the owner has time to finish it. It will look amazing when done and we will be re-visiting 100%
The pond has one bottom drain running into a Nexus 320 filter, which returns via 2 returns back to the pond, one via a EVO110 UV.
The custom Skimmer which you will see on most of our ponds runs into an Evolution Aqua Micro K1 Bead filter. This goes back via a single return right now but has another return which will eventually go onto a shower and heater.

Great looking pond 👍 how deep? 6 foot? It looks a similiar size to mine only deeper, mines an inch shy of 4 foot deep and approx 2300 gallons.

I have no idea, never thought about weights. K1 is used in commercial fish farming too, it’s about food, not stock.

Hi. I see you have the 30" EA dechlorinator in line for the auto top up? I had mine like that on a auto top up and it exploded. EA told me they should not be left with pressure inside them, rather turned off once the pond has been topped up, Have you ever had any trouble with them doing that?

No never, first I’ve heard and most of our customers have them installed just like this.

@@TimWaddington off the EA web page, No, installing a tap after the unit is the number one cause of leaks and damaged units. Detox is tested to withstand average mains water pressure, but if a tap installed after the unit, or a ball cock, pressure can build inside the unit. Like I say, mine exploded having left it on a ball cock, didn't see this bit before installing, as an auto top up.

Always thought koi ponds were raised up to stop frogs and other wildlife getting in, is that the case?
