Since coming across this channel (YT recommended your Trump Bible review), I've been reading the Bible more and more. In addition, I used to only read the ESV, which we use in our church, but now I've discovered a few translations I've never heard of before but love. I got a rebind from SDG with cranberry native goatskin. Also with blue inside liners like yours. Kinda crazy how close it looks. Mine was the NKJV from Humble Lamb with the dark blue art gilt. I really like the native goatskin.

I am not Catholic, but I have friends and family that are and I am interested in having a Bible with the deuterocanonical texts. I'm still interested in your review of the Robert Alter Bible set on your bookshelf too. They are supposed to be doing a second run in August and I'm thinking of getting one.

I see where you're coming from with this comment, but I think Tim is just trying to demonstrate that if you have a beloved old bible that's falling apart (or maybe just an "unattractive" bible with sentimental value), re-binding might be a great option...and it supports small businesses that specialize in this craft!

Mrs. Redbird here! 😊 We homeschool in NC and you have to create a name for your school and it’s a permanent thing once you choose. So we are a little smitten with cardinals and we decided on “Redbird” to be a part of our school name. Kevin liked that and knew his rebinding would be a family thing so he chose to use “Redbird” for the name of his Bible rebinding business. :)

I'm looking for a modern Bible. 1. It should begin with the Geneva Bible. (Cause I want to upset the KJV onlyists. LOL) 2. It should contain all the original Geneva Bible margin comments in modern English. 3. It should carefully update the old Testament using the Old Testament Septuagint + Dead Sea Scrolls, not the Masoretic Text. 4. It should carefully update the new Testament using the Majority Text(Byzantine). Editors should have a similar philosophy as the LSB/WEB Bible. 5. Decent leather. I don't want a paperback or hardcover. 6. Center column reference links 7. Passage headings. 8. No tabs on the side to help find books of the Bible. That would be a great Bible. ❤
