Tin Hifi made its reputation with the T2 at $50. Now they're going up market with the T4 at just over $100. Has the quality scaled with the price? Let's find out.
See it on Amazon: amzn.to/2FesvVR
$10 cheaper on Ali: s.click.aliexpr...
Even cheaper on Drop: drop.com/buy/t...
FYI: I may get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.

I honestly thought i was going crazy. i had T2s and got them damaged so I decided to get the T4s since most reviews were positive and was disappointed. I am now in the process of refunding them and reordering the T2s. i listen to mostly rock and metal too and T4s definitely do not have the same clarity as T2s, at least in my opinion. Thank you for the video!

Owned this for 5 months right now. Yep, you review matches my thoughts on this. For me, it's not worth the money, but that tonality but for me timbre is what makes it worth it. It actually reminds me of a mini version of hd 600, since they suffer in seperation and imaging on very complex tracks ( metal, etc,.). But it is so far away from hd 600, but just saying. I think they are the same, just divide the hd 600 by 4 or 5, and you get tin t4.

After all the negatives, a four star does not make sense. With your review comments it sounded more like 2.5 stars. I am guessing, since you couldn't get a proper fit for isolation the sound didn't come right. I find the separation fantastic and the bass excellent. You need to review it again after you get rid of your cold 😊

nice to know. i think your issue with fit is to do with you using standard silicone tips, i used them kz zs10 pros, tin p1's, t3's (and akgs and other cheapest brand earphones) and always found that they pop out too easy, i did research into them and found that foam tips and triple layer silicone tips provide a much better hold. you can get triple layer silicone on ebay for 5 euro for 3 pairs, but initially feel invasive and uncomfortable until you get used to them, foam tips cost 20 euro for 3 pairs, but generally wear out pretty fast. however both are better then standard silicone tips in terms of security and isolation
@SuperReview
@SuperReview 4 жыл бұрын
The fit is really not a big problem for me, they're just not as secure-fitting as some others. Swapping to foams will have some impact on the sound -- and I like them as-is.

I listen my music on a NW-Z300 Walkman, and with the Single Crystal Copper Silver Plated Balanced Cable, the T2s, not the pro, sound absolutely phenomenal! Very comparable with original SR-60 grados, not the "e's". T3s come second with slight wider and laid back soundstage and quite brighter, T4s did not impressed me at all; soundstage is non-existent, it's like sound gets injected into my skull like crazy. The case was nice.

First view, first like, first comment - bam! trifecta Seriously though I was waiting for you to get to this one because I got em' and was interested what your take was given all your other Tin reviews. I agree about the grabby-cable being annoying, but otherwise it's a nicely designed, minimalistic cable that really fits the buds...If I wasn't such a balanced connection snob I'd even use it. As far as the sound goes....yea, it's kinda delicate, but with some foam tips. a bit of EQing though my ES100 and a quiet place to listen they can deliver a really clean, deep , airy sound that makes BLONs sound kinda narrow and congested in comparison.

The cp sounds like magaosi 3ba? Because they looks similar. I had one. Overall one of the worst sounding iem in my life (for the price ). I had circa 20 iems. So. No bass. (BA bass not enough deep, i dont care if this knowles ), not enough highs and not airy highs. It was totaly boxy sound, like something cold machine without heart.. Average soundstage. Some strings was good on it but mehh. Very confortable but somehow i felt it myself in the void with it. I wont buy again bass BA eim. Hard to beleive that thing is a favorite iem for any kind of human. Probably the older brother magaosi k5 is the same in the bass region. I dont know but i dont wanna to try it. Have you plan to try vsonic gr09? I try to find a poweful earphone. Which can eat a lot of power without injure the driver. I have many dead iem.. I gave them a littlebit more juice what they could eating.. The vsonic vsd3 can play very loud! Really good for the street in a busy city. But sounds not that good. I am curious if you would prefer the T3 or the T4 in comparison? I've picked the T3 and are pretty happy with them. I chose them because I've read they have a more flat signature and are quite accurate. I also have the BVGP DMG as a more dark sounding IEM. It's nice to be able to choose between them. I also love the BGVP, but in my opinion they really needed to be EQ'd to get the sound I like, which I did. Also with a balanced cable the BGVP sound much better to me as well.
@SuperReview

I would personally probably pick T4, but it's pricier. The sub-bass on T4 is pretty nice, despite not being especially forward, and the upper mids / treble are about right for my tastes. Been a while since I listened to them, but T3 is quite nice with vocals.

@@SuperReview Thank you :) The only problem I had with the T3 was that they were too sibulant, but I fixed that with a little mod. I'm using Spinfit tips that have a narrower hole. I did cut a small bit of coffee filter and put that under the tips. The coffee filter acts as a filter and cuts out the too sharp highs. Now they do sound perfect to me and I'm also keeping that clarity and soundstage. I'm pretty happy with that.

Even with a headphone amp, I was very disappointed by the flat imaging and the treble which really feels "natural" on the P1 and not on the T4. The P1 is really a huge step above for me.

I like the p1 more aswell. It sounds more balanced and doesnt have a 5khz peak like the t4 which makes it tiresome pretty quickly. The bass seems more natural on the t4 though. I drive the p1 balanced with the fiio btr5 which gives plenty of power.

as always great review ! ...i just don't understand why almost all the chinese brands make straight plug jack , i very much prefer the L plug for portability.
@SuperReview
@SuperReview 4 жыл бұрын
Interesting, what's your reasoning? I prefer straight jacks personally. My reason: When I put the DAP in my pocket, the jack sticks straight out (assuming the connector is on the bottom of the DAP, which is also my preference).
@filippoduso6112
@filippoduso6112 4 жыл бұрын
@@SuperReview for me it is simply too bulky, in the inside pocket of the jacket it fits with the "tax" and it is more complicated to keep the rest of the cable inside the pocket. In addition to this then I find that in most cases it is unnecessarily heavy .... obviously I only speak of earphones to be used on the go (which is why I use earphones). It would be simply nice to be able to choose the type of jack ... but we will definitely get there!

@@SuperReview There are a some very high end manufacturers that do. Anything mechanical has some kind of break in period. Flexible membranes get softer with use. When I first tried the T4 they where terrible. No bass and the high mids/ lower treble dounded like being in a tin can. After a short while the treble calmed down but the bass still sucked. I almost sent them back which is very rare for me. I enjoyed the detailed sound though. Tried the port mod like on the T2. Didn't help. At the end of a week of use the bass did come up a lot.

I am having trouble trying to decide a level up for my ear buds.. I have been using the Creative EP-630 for probably 10+ years now. Super hard to judge a review without hearing something first XD. I have looked at tin hifi the most, T3 on watch, but pretty sure they are still not what i am looking for. The EP630s have some beefy base and i listen to a lot of synthwave/dreamwave/melodic metal. So i usually like more bass for the electronic music to shine BUT i still balance it to more treble, average mids and good sub punch without droning low-mids. I really like the MMCX connectors too. If you like the sound and hate the cable, you can swap the cable. This is my favorite MMCX cable right now: www.aliexpress.com/item/32850766714.html There are a lot of versions of the GR07, I'm not sure if some are considered more highly than others. I have a newer GR07 Bass, and frankly I don't like it much. Bit flat sounding, and a bit of a sibilance issue.
