This was the episode where they were practicing for a talent show. Each one started getting sick with some sort if flu until it was only Steve playing saxophone with the dog.

Somehow I don't remember this particular episode. Katie (Tina) had a nice voice! She was certainly easy on the eyes.

+Lava1964 Ha ha, isn't that funny, I'm the exact opposite; for years I had it in the back of my mind that I had seen Katie singing Dowtown in an episode of My Three Sons but thought I must have been hallucinating, thinking she kind of looked a bit like Petula Clark anyway. I'm not going crazy after all!

I love that show, especially the later episodes with Katie & Polly. ‘All good actors playing interesting characters. Musically, Tina Cole was way beyond all of them combined.

Most people forget, Robbie wasn't the oldest son. Mike was the oldest. He left the show and Ernie was adopted to continue with the 3 sons theme. Mike married Sally (Meredith McCrae) another beautiful blonde.

That's true. Actually, Fred Ma Murray's playing the saxophone is what helped him get started in Hollywood. William Demarest did play the cello in real life although I don't know if he was self taught. As for Don Grady, I don't know if he played the trumpet at all although he did play a few different instruments and wrote music.

Its hard to tell because they have the curtains closed, but with the boys wearing white shirts and Tina a sleeve-less dress, I would say the season is probably late Spring or early Summer.

I can't speak for Tina Cole, but the men of My Three Sons were all capable musicians. No studio overdubs were necessary; it was really them playing.

It's not really a question of their competency as musicians. It's a problem of sound input quality in the on-set microphones of the time.
