Tina Peters Trial - Day 4 Recap

Day 4 of the Tina Peters trial went underway at roughly 9 a.m. Monday morning. Front office manager Stephanie Wenholz continued her testimony from Friday afternoon surrounding her part in the meeting that took place on April 23, 2021 in former Clerk Peters’ office. Two Mesa County I.T. employees also took the stand.
Wenholz was excused from this meeting after discussions of opening the ballot machines took place. You may recall from Friday's testimony of Director of Elections Brandi Bantz that she was also asked to leave this meeting. Out of the eight members in attendance, only these two were excused.
This was then followed by an event at the Double Tree Hotel with Dr. Douglas Frank regarding phantom voters. Wenholz states staff was required to attend both this and a dinner that followed.
Wenholz explained that it was strange she didn't meet Gerald Wood face to face at all during the process of a background check, as it's something she prefers to do for verification.
