Its interesting to see this, to compare how she evolved/grew, with (manager) Roger. They changed a lot of what she was doing (here), her outfits, her patter, and it all worked well to her (and our) advantage. Seeing this, its like the finale of her 'old days'. I totally appreciate her, in all ways, but much prefer the stylized and slick version, from say mid 8o's onward. Thx for the share.

That’s because the American music industry has basically black listed her because they were too racist to call her a rock n roll act and too money hungry to promote her because of that and her age after her comeback. Instead the shoved talentless Madonna with her BS so music Nile Rogers conjured up for her. They’re also mad because she chose Europe over America where her real fans are. They refused to promote her and then black listed her because she went to live where she was getting all the love she absolutely deserved. That’s why.

You too, I had a chance to see her at the Club Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach NH when I was vacationing there. It was when private dancer had just come out. I thought she would be doing mostly private dancer songs and I wasn't real big on the album at the time (a lot more into what she was doing here) so I didn't go to the show. Have kicked myself ever since especially since the casino is a relatively small venue and has really decent sound. She wasn't just a singer she was an entertainer, and her shows reflect just how great she was. As a side note I did get to see John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band there (great show). Oh to be young again!

Tina @43! Wow! Watch Tina work this quiet audience to get the best from them. It is not hard to see why Roger Davies was confident this woman still had years left in her as rock star. Here we see Tina before the Private Dancer album which relaunched her solo career,before any of the hits of her solo career, before any of those life-changng collaborations. Let's Stay Together, (Tina's collaboration with London ELectric Company / Heaven 17) What's Love Got to Do with It (the first of Tina's hits with Tony Joe White) were to redefine Tina. Yet here we see the authority, confidence, and energy all present, honed and ready for what was to come. Note that this band, James Ralston, Jack Bruno, Bob Feit, Kenny Moore (until his death), journeyed with Tina throughout her resurrected solo career, augmented post Private Dancer with John Miles and Timmy Cappello. The two dancers, Annie Behringer and Lejeune Richardson were also to rejoin Tina in her 1990 Foreign Affair, tour see below. Tina was a force of nature but also very much a team effort, and it takes more than talent to be both. Brava Tina! And thank you!!

Thanks so much for your wonderful reaction and tribute to Tina Turner! I'm so grateful that I saw her live in the 80s and will never forget it. I remember when she began with Ike and the Ikettes. (That dates me!) She saved her life from him and rose higher above. Just sensational. They began touring with the Rolling Stones in the 60s and she occasionally sang with Mick Jagger at live concerts in the 90s. She loved performing with the Stones. There's awesome videos of her singing with Mick Jagger at Live Aid and in Tokyo. They fed off each other's high energy ❤
@pairrynwatson42298 ай бұрын
@wanderer0617🤗 Yes, she did love💓 touring with the Rolling Stones and so did Ike🎸 before he & Tina split up, that's how The Ike & Tina Turner Revue got their start in being exposed to Europe and they were really loved there😍 I do remember seeing👀 Tina in an interview with someone on a video(don't recall who) and she said when they 1st got invited to tour with the Stones they were so excited💥😁 and Tina said, I don't know where Europe is but I know It's SOMEWHERE and we are going there. That was the start of Tina Turner and Mick Jagger's lifelong music friendship in the 60s🎙🎶 on into the 2000s🎤🎵 she even taught Mick a few dance moves💃🏽🕺 Europe loved Tina and she loved Europe and performing with Mick, and he loved Europe and Europe loved him too and the Rolling Stones!💖💜❤💙🌎⭐👏🏻 The statement about u (being dated)😅 just means u have many great awesome memories of them. And yes, she did save herself from Ike and rose above the pain to gain in her lane🏆🌹 I never saw her in a live concert but I can imagine how they were🔥🌋 seeing the videos is the next best thing, I really love watching them😍 She's very much missed but still loved so very much!😘 May she Rest In Sweet Peace!!!!💐🥀😢😭💔🙏🏻🕊🕯

The keyboard player kenny Moore died around the mid nineties ...he was with her for a long time at least 10 years....when she downscaled her band she kept him...he was a gospel singer ...the black dancer was also with her as an ikette for many years...Electrifying Tina grafted her way back after so much oppression from her mum and ike....her mother never really accepted her and she lived with her grandmother for years... her dad was not around much and beat her mum...her mum was strong however and slapped back. Tina is so theatrical and raw class...so unique and powerful ..positive and enlightened..fun and youthful...her mum always took it’s side but Tina was compassionate and graceful throughout. Tina her pain and grit is in her voice and beautiful soul ...a kind person ..true to herself down to earth in touch with her audience
