Please explain formal and informal, like normal to professional language. Formal writing is that form of writing which is used for the business, legal, academic or professional purpose. On the other hand, informal writing is one which is used for personal or casual purpose. Formal writing must use a professional tone, whereas a personal and emotional tone can be found in informal writing.

In the lesson, you said that the day after tomorrow is hari esok hari apa but on the screen you just put esok hari apa? I am confused now.....
@TinaAmir7 жыл бұрын
Mervin Lee i'm sorry if i make you confused..but don't be.."hari esok hari apa?" And "esok hari apa?" Both are correct for speaking..just for speaking we of course prefer to say something short; "esok hari apa?" ..it's like this..proper formal malay; "hari esok hari apa?"(hari=day/esok=tomorrow/apa=what)...but you cannot do direct translation for everything...direct translation is helping but not for everything...because if i translate that to english..it will be weird, it will be "day tomorrow day what"..2 times repetition of day...so that's why i put on the screen something closer which translated from english "what day is tomorrow?".."esok hari apa?" ..but as i said.. "hari esok hari apa"...also correct in malay...btw, the day after tomorrow=lusa :) thanks for watching Mervin :)
