@DendeDog7 жыл бұрын
The glitter in the acrylic is more common now, but different techs will either use pre mixed powders or they'll use clear and add things on top - it just depends who you go to :) Also, when she clamped you, she was pinching them to make them not so flat which adds strength and helps them not to break since they are quite long! Just a few tidbits coming from another nail tech :)
@DendeDog7 жыл бұрын
There's no harm in mixing acrylic and glitter, you just need to know how to do it properly. Do you know what happens chemically with the acrylic + glitter? Instead of taking Suzies words for gospel and pasting her answer, you should know what happens. The monomers in the liquid, when coming into contact with the polymer powder begin to create thousands of chains of linking polymers (That's what makes the acrylic hard) - this doesn't magically stop when they come into contact with a chunk of glitter, they just wrap around it. In theory the acrylic with glitter is going to be ever so slightly weaker because these chains are obstructed but that's why you should do a thin layer of clear both under and overtop to give the acrylic the proper strength. The acrylic will still cure perfectly fine, the only way it wouldn't would be if your ratio was 90% glitter, 10% acrylic which no good tech would do. By the theory of "don't mix anything with acrylic", you shouldn't have coloured acrylic as the pigment gets in the way of polymerisation but there are plenty of techs that use coloured acrylic and are fine.

These nails remind me or Kirsty's work from Naio Nails. Her creations are always extreme and gorgeous. She is from the U.K. I wouldn't call this "Japanese" nail art. If you are into nails, you will notice this style all over the world. The glitter acrylic is nothing new. It has been around for years. Also colored acrylic as well. And colored acrylic with glitter, shells, mylar, giant glitter shapes. Basically, a lot can go into the acrylic before it is applied. Your nails are so beautiful, by the way. I absolutely LOVE them.

actually that is not true for some ancient cultures. in some ancient cultures it was a symbol of wealth in the social class. if you were very wealthy you had long nails wich meant you could literally afford to have other people do things for you. like dress you , bathe you , do your hair for you. it did at one time mean something. ( i think it was from Thailand but my memory is rusty soooo.......)

Tia lagno They're from the subculture 'gyaru' in Japan. It was big in early 2000's. It was kind of a middle finger to the standard ideals of Japanese beauty, the girls who started it meant it to be that way. There's lots of branches of gyaru. Ones that strive for princess look, rocker look, hip hop etc. Try looking up gyaru nails on google images for inspiration.

peachyiu my nails always get trashed washing up, but I think acrylic is more water resistant than a natural nail so it might actually be better.

Coloured acrylic has been around for ages lol. Ever since I started getting my nails done, I’ve always had nail techs use coloured acrylic on my nails

My nail artist does these kinds of nails and I live in The States??? Edit: I have long & “extra nails” and the only advise I have for anyone is take baby steps to get to those kinds of nails. You get use to doing things with them but it takes time. I personally can do everything except pick up coins. Lol.

lol glitter powder has been around for a good few years and if you look at the current (and 2016/17) Japanese nail art actually in Japan they are much more understated, they look more like 2017 Western nails but seeing as she is in Sydney.......

I’m watching this in 2021 with big bling on my nails thinkin 💭 so this is where we got the idea to bling out nails out to the max? If so, THANK YOU JAPAN! And No sparkly acrylic isn’t new. I remember back in probably 2000 when I started doing nails I had powders from EZ Flow called Boogie Nights. They had so much sparkle in them.

To be honest I can do literally anything but accurately pop eyeshadow on my lid with nails like this lol, so maybe that advice is towards someone who wants to try them out for the couple first times idk, but still lol really cute and interesting video ^_^ love the whole pros and cons thing lol very cute.

Tina you should try doing your own nail art!!! Start with regular polish designs, then maybe progress into gel and acrylics? It’s surprisingly easy to self teach online :-)

I haven't had nails That long, but my first ones were pretty damn long to start off with, even then I had people telling me how hard it was gonna be to do all the things you brought out. Personally I maybe found them a bit difficult for a day or two, because I hadn't figured it all out yet, but by the end of the first week, I barely noticed any difference. So I guess you just have to find other methods to do things, I used the sides of my fingers more than the tips of my fingers for example. Typing is one thing you will find difficult again after the removal of your long nails.

Gorgeous! Did you lose any of the crystals? I’m a manicurist and I’m trying to get a foolproof way of placing the crystals so they stay permanently...thanks! ❤️
