Thank you Santana for the kind words in the begining " they are the originators " the fun Carlos is having on stage is just an illustration of the greatness of the guy cos its the roots you are listening to , for the guys that say they are Algerians stop the lies they are TOUAREG and they support the AZAWED revolution in MALI , Freedom for all who wants it .

Algeria is the land of the Touareg people along with Tchad, Mali and Niger and Libia. These are the countries where the Touareg Nomads are found. Algeria has one of the biggest deserts in the World, it takes up to 80% if not 90% of the total seize of the country (and the country is the biggest country in Africa, might I add). So our Touareg brothers and sisters who call the Sahara home, identifie as Algerian Touaregs and they are very proud of their country like every other Algerian., they have fought for this country like every other Algerian, so you are actually insulting them and their sacrifices by stating that they are not. PS: Unfortunately Tunisia is not on the list, sorry for you guys, don't cry ;) and next time try to federate people instead of dividing them , you would sleep better trust me. Oh I forgot something, Tinariwen sung in the opening of the world cup with the Algerian flag ;)

I am amazed that some people would such offer negative critiques of this collaboration. Carlos has nothing but respect for other musicians and cultures, that's what he's all about. Carlos is a living legend and musicians all over the world are honored to play with him. His presence and performance does not overshadow or diminish Tinarewin's performance at all...these are musicians simply relating and creating.
@jamesllyod944 Жыл бұрын
I fuck with Santana and this collab, but he does immediately shit on other people's culture and music with the stab at the Banjos. I usually just skip that shit and vibe with this fire ass song.

The birth of the group Tinariwen in 1982 was closely related to the situation of exile and wandering the Tuareg people. He is the emanation of the diaspora. The musicians of Tinariwen are all from the Adrar des Ifoghas, refugees in the years 1970 to Tamanrasset, Algeria. Their poems sung call to the awakening of political consciousness and address the problems of exile, repression and political demands. The group, named Taghreft Tinariwen (meaning "nation-building")

As well as inviting Tinariwen, Carlos also played with Ismael Lo, Mory Kante, Kora Jazz Trio, Angelique Kidjo, Toure Kunda and Idrissa Diop. Say what you will about Carlos's musical contribution but the fact is that no other American artist does more to promote African artists. I've seen Tinariwen live, they're superb and deserve the widest possible audience but unfortunately most African acts couldn't get arrested in the US so this sort of exposure is important.

He combined his style with their style. Santana as an artist is not going to forget his sound. I think he did a great job. You can still hear the african root. Other musicans out of africa play some form of rock music. I have heard african musicans play like this. Don't ask me the names because I can't remember.

You people are so negative. We should be happy had western musians are giving respect to african music. Western music these days need a sound lift. If it takes carlos santana to help american music than let it be. By the way santana is well respected for playing classic music. As an black artist I respect santana. By the way african musicans are happy to have western muscians play african music or gave respect to african music. Afro american music is rooted in africa.
