Tinaroo Fishing | How to catch winter barra easy

Quick video for those that aren't the most confident anglers but are keen to get into some barra. Winter isn't usually the "go-to" time of year for Barra but if you stick to small live baits then you'll find you may have some more success. The steps taken in this video can be implemented at any part of Tinaroo, in fact the point I fished I had only fished once before and that was earlier the same day. Although boat is easier, you can certainly target them from the bank using this method. Find some weed in 2-3 foot of water to catch your live baits then see if there is a point or bay that has wind blowing into it, find that and you'll find the Barra.

Yeah worms or chunks of steak cut really thin do the job for mouthos. Catfish can be prolific at times however if you’re finding you’re catching catties you’re probably fishing in water that’s too deep. No more than 6-9ft of water for mouthos at the moment

what size hook to catch the mouth almighties, and do you rig a whole worm on the hook too?

Like size 8 or smaller I go. And depends on size of the worm/how many you have. Worms aren’t overly tough and will get eaten off quick before you can hook a good sized moutho, especially if banded grunter are around in plague amounts

Mouthos, can also use banded grunter in the winter. Catch both of them on worms
