So I read that she is signed with RCA Records, which is a subsidiary of Sony. I would NOT be surprised if they are purposely holding her back so she won't blow up in popularity like she should and overshadow other artists. She should find a respectable company that will allow her to use her musical creativity and not control her. She is mega talented and she is different. These companies (including Sony) keep pushing artists in our faces that some of us are sick and tired of seeing. I really hope they let this girl do her own thing. Trust me, RCA aren't purposely holding Tinashe back to let other artists shine. Record labels in general are mis-handling new pop and R&B artists these days; they're expecting big hits without putting in the time and money for promotion and more importantly artist development. This strategy isn't working, hence why so many pop artists are struggling to get their albums out. Labels are also struggling to adapt to streaming and how it changes the parameters of success, and thus delaying albums in hope of finding that illusive hit single, when what they are actually doing is killing the artists' buzz and momentum.
