Join Sam and I as we head off on a spontaneous trip to see Cameron for a jumping lesson each. Sam takes his Pony Scampi and we work on riding technical Jumping lines simulating cross country combinations.
Unfortunately we had a slight issue which resulted in a mini meltdown from me... but im determined to get my head back in the game. And as Cam says its good for these things to happen in training else we won't ever learn how to deal with them in a competition environment.
(Still easier said than done when it affects your self belief though)

That was brilliant Tina. You are growing so much as a rider, but also in character as a person. Wobbles are natural and part of the learning process and your reaction afterwards is a huge step forward. Well done!! 🤩😍 xx

Tina, I can understand whole heartedly where you’re coming from when things effect your self belief. Those hurdles are the ones that feel insurmountable. I struggle with these as well as a rider. I fear something will happen due to my old back injury or just in general and it’ll advance that injury. Our brains need a “worry off” switch! Also, your US audience doesn’t get the ability to try and enjoy all the yummy yfood products that you guys get across the pond. I may or may not have emailed them asking when they’ll offer more for us. 😂

so nice to know others relate to that over worrying feeling and its not just me that feels this way. It sucks but im determined to get better at casting those thoughts aside. I keep asking them too!!! I mean im happy to help them launch it over there hehehehe 😂

@@LifeontheLeftRein You are an inspiration to us worrying riders, Tina. I love watching you advance and I'd be lying if I wasn't welling up watching you get discouraged and worry like that (because I'm the SAME way). But then the determination to get Banksy and yourself over that line literally made me want to go jump on my own pony and do my own "scary line." Your videos are so appreciated - even those hard parts as I know you as you not only experience them, but then review them in the clips, edit them, then post it for your viewers. Sending you so much love, confidence, and support from my home to your heart.

Clever teaching - counting out loud will stop the negative mindset - you can’t think and speak at the same time - so if you feel less confident in the warm up or even in the class count out quietly to yourself you don’t get penalised for talking in jumping only dressage - well done

What a great lesson for each of you. I could watch Cameron teach for ages lol. Sam did so good and seemed to really take all Cam said on board. Tina Yr lesson was brilliant and I totally get how u feel too. I just wish u could see what we all see and that is a lively rider who tries so hard for her horse. U have come such a long way since I started watching u and I just want u to feel proud of yrself. Banky is a good boy and is obviously sensitive to Yr feelings. But Cam was right saying u can only learn from things going wrong. Please don't let this mess up Yr confidence as u r are so damn good and always look like Yr enjoying it. Deep breath and put Yr smile on and keep going xx

I'd like to point out and commend you on your jumping position. Far too many people throw themselves at the horse which of course throws the horse off balance and can lead to stops. You keep a very balanced position and let the horse close the angles (shoulders, elbows, hips, knees) for you. This was taught to me a thousand years ago and I always made it a point to teach it to my students. Well done you!!!

Once you started counting (and not thinking/focused on whatever block was in your mind) you rode through it like a Champion. Well done lady! I would recommend singing song while entering the line.. it’s BIG help and some of my favorites were “The Ittys Bittys Spider” “Ring around the Rosie” or the “Alphabet song A B C D” all age friendly when riding around juniors so you don’t have to say “Sugar”😃

Oh I love Scampi; always wanted a roan! Sam is lovely, his Mum must be so proud of what a hard working boy he is, he seems to have grown up so much from your first vlogs together. I think we've all been there where we start feeling negative and like we're getting it all wrong and it is SO hard to change your mindset back round again so well done for getting through the negative moments. You guys are on top form at the moment but that doesn't mean you're not allowed to have a wobble, in fact I like that you show the reality of owning horses and that you're only human. Good luck for Bicton! X

Hi Tina, I wanted to send a message of support for you and Banksy before your 100. Awesome Job On Your Lesson!!!!!!!! Sometimes I find that I also put so much pressure on myself to ride and support my pony perfectly at the higher levels. Your vlogs bring me so much joy to watch and allow me to remember my past eventing life. I wait each week to watch them and are the highlight of my week, to be honest. Always remember where you have come from in terms of confidence and no matter what enjoy your pony as nothing else matters. I lost my eventer a while ago and always regret the amount of pressure we put on ourselves to be perfect when really all said and done I just enjoyed having fun and enjoying my best friend. Enjoy your competition, good luck!!!!!!! :)

After seeing the title of this vlog I was expecting the worst... but in fact you both jumped amazingly for 95% of the time! I’d have been so happy to have ridden like that! My guess is that you were tired on the day as you looked more like your normal self the next morning 🙂 Are you perhaps also a bit nervous about Bicton? Which would explain your being emotional and needing to vent your feelings in front of Cameron. Don’t worry Tina, you’re going to be fine! 😉

Sam is a superstar in the making! Can't wait to see him on the FEI circuit one day! You did amazingly well! Coming from someone who broke their back eventing, its necessary to have those meltdowns to show us we are human, we are never done learning and solving every issue, and we can move on from a bobble. Next runout, and there will be a next time (maybe next week or in years), you will say wait a minute I'm better than this and can solve the problem and go on like nothing happened.

I think the main thing to think with your reaction is be happy that it happened in training with Cam rather than in the arena in a competition, it's happened, it's done, yes it's fresh but you're more aware of it now than you would have otherwise been, if anything the reaction you had has prepared you further because the events will be fresh and you'll be ready to attack anything in front of you on the day

Oh sweet Tina. My problems seem to appear when I’ve had steady success for a while. It is as if the body and mind are trying to adjust. You have been on such a lovely straight line of progress. Sometimes the hiccup comes because we are in the process of assimilating all the lovely new sensations of progress. You really are ready to do the Novice, but you may have to let all the pieces fall gently into place. My golf pro once told me to stop trying so hard and let the swing come naturally - it is not quite so easy with the horses, but I think that wonderful horse of yours would love for you to let him help you both shine. Keep reminding yourself that you have so much support and a lovely generous horse and you are fabulous.💝
