INFO:
The park is located in the area formerly known as "Valley of Weeping". Valea Plângerii was concessioned in 1940 by contract to Uzinelor Comunale București, to be a landfill for 25 years, after which it would be transformed into a park. The development of the park began in 1965 and the works lasted until 1974. The basic development lasted only 8 months and was carried out with the contribution of the youth, through patriotic work. The large differences in level (up to 16 m) required a modeling of the land in order to highlight the mirror of Tineretului lake, spread over 13 hectares. In the 1980s, the park was expanded to the east, with the construction of the Palace of Pioneers and Falcons of the Fatherland, today the National Children's Palace.
