Quite simply, the best jazz trio in Europe. I have listened to every one of their albums and every one of them are outstanding. Martin Tingvall is one the greatest composers in modern jazz.

@simonfetthol Thanks for taking your time to reply. Interesting. I guess it does lack that "edginess" in the beginning... I think the vibrancy starts to set alight around 3:00.. :-) Anyway, thank you for your reply.

About rhythmic control: Listen to "Sevilla" from their most recent album and tell us how much time you needed to note down just the left hand kicks for the main theme ;) The directness of their sound is not a consequence of lacking ability to play complex music. Influenced by elements of pop and rock their music is relevant to a lot of people who are able to throw a glance at some facets of modern jazz that way.

I listened to this composition and "Sevilla". Sorry not my kind of jazz, it is lacking (typical for most of European Jazz) the natural blues feeling. Sevilla is technically well played, but I miss the "gutsy playing from the heart" attitude. These type of bands will never survive in NYC or the more avant garde Chicago scene, where the competition is huge, and the majority of the music played far more challenging.
