Y’all can debate about the “blueprint” but Jhené’s influence is undeniable. She was the only female artist that was at the forefront of the R&B Mixtape wave that male r&b artists ushered in (Chris, Miguel, Frank Ocean, Weeknd). Those mixtapes/EPs helped old and new female r&b artists get their music out when labels were shelving them.

Sailing Souls was the blueprint for the current R&b girls! Jhene created her own sub genre of r&b way back in 2011. I'm glad Tink gave her the flowers she deserves. I know H.E.R has also been vocal about Items and Sailing Souls being being an influence for her. Charlemagne needs to go back and listen to Jhene's catalogue in its entirety!
