How are you using a hole to "carve" off all excess around the cone? It looks like you are highlighting the cone and the new rectangular cube you bring on to the workplane. Then you turn the rectangular cube into a hole and group it with the fuselage. But instead of cutting off the fuselage, it cuts off all excess. Interesting trick. You do it several times. But one of the times is at 1:53.

Nice work you gave me good tips today I designed my first jewelry link chain design and that’s basically what I was doing using different shapes and stretching and it helped me imagine different patterns to create links I just started with 3D designing with tinkercad a week ago and practiced my forth day today and from nothing I created something it’s so awesome self taught now with your video I will try a jet which are one of my favorite machines plus cars and motorcycles can you do a video on motorcycles keep up the great work

if you go to shape generators and click all and go to page 13, there is a shape called swept NACA which is really useful for wings

I'm an art teacher and new to Tinkercad. My students and I are trying to figure out how you did the "subtraction" using the box-hole-group method, but aren't having any luck. Can you give us step-by-step instructions on how to subtract the excess forms when combining them? The specific section we're trying to figure out is in the F104 jet fighter video starts at, 1minute 30 seconds. We appreciate any help or guidance you are willing to offer. Thank you!

+Anthony Cilli Hi Anthony, Thanks for the question. So i have a link to a Tinkercad video showing the basic technique. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXK6kI1_r9Kieas 1 So I take a cube and make it a hole by clicking the hole button in the inspector in the upper right corner. 2Then I select the hole and the color object which in this case was the stretched out sphere and then go up to the upper right top of the software where it says Group and click Group that should subtract any part of the geometry that is intersecting with the colored geometry. If that still isn't clear let me know and I will post a video showing you exactly how to do it. Let me know how it goes with your students work. So glad to hear people are learning from the videos

+3Dit First off, thank you so much for responding! My students and I were excited to get a response. Your steps and that tutorial video were very helpful! Thank you! Right now we are designing boats that we intend to print on our Makerbot. Then, we will add sails and race them to see whose boat is designed for the fastest travel. I hope to film it and post it to our school's KZbin channel. Anyways, we'll report back once we have them printed. Thanks again! You are much appreciated!

+king poop Well If I'm understanding you're question correctly, the intakes are angled into the body of the jet and then I use a cube hole to cut them off so they end in the body of the jet. Then the rear engine exhaust is a cylinder that I aligned to the body of the jet so that it blends into one body. Hope this helps. Any other questions just ask thanks for the feed back

At 1:52 i believe he hid the center part (not shown in video) then grouped a hole with the two intake pieces at the ends to clip them off. Then unhide the center part and the extruding unwanted material is gone. I don't think it is possible to do it the way the video appears to show??????
